Review: Do not buy, will kill your fish!!! Poor temperature regulation. - This thermometer does not regulate temperature accurately (if at all). I have wild temperature spikes in my aquarium. Ideally Iโd like my aquarium to be 76 to 78, but if I set the heaterโs thermostat to 78 I get temps in excess of 90 degrees as measured with a calibrated thermometer. I thought the heaters thermostat was just reading low, so I set the heater to 73, and for several days itโs maintained 78 as read with the calibrated thermometer. However, this morning my calibrated thermometer was 89 degrees but the heater was still saying it was 74 degrees and set for 73. The water felt much warmer than usual and there is a milky haze in the tank (likely a bacteria bloom overnight). I unplugged this heater and initiated a return.

Great heaters
These heaters are 100 times better then glass heaters . Of you are having touble with algea in you tank woth glass heaters trade them out for these .

Do not buy, will kill your fish!!! Poor temperature regulation.

Ideally Iโd like my aquarium to be 76 to 78, but if I set the heaterโs thermostat to 78 I get temps in excess of 90 degrees as measured with a calibrated thermometer. Accurate, small, reliable
I got this heater to replace my Fluval. It was having trouble maintaining a consistent temp. This heater is fantastic. It's smaller than the Fluval, black and unobtrusive in the tank, and the heater is maintaining 75 degrees in 15 gallon tank at night when the room is down to 55 degrees.

Love it. So much easier setting it to a specific temperature. Not having to guess what setting toy have is worth the money alone.

my go to brand for heaters
This is my favorite brand of heater for its simplicity and reliability. The heater works great all the time. The control box is around halfway down the power cord and is in a great place to be out of the way but still easily accessible. The power cord is very nice and thick and has no issues delivering the power required to keep my Beta's water up to temperature. The thermometer is very accurate, and I haven't observed any off readings or malfunctions in the few months I have been using it. The size is great. It is small enough to be hidden in my tank without taking away from the natural aesthetic of the hardscape. I recommend this heater to anybody looking for a reliable heater for their tank.

Too hot!
Once it turns on, it doesnโt turn off. Overheating terribly.

Small size is nice
-I ordered the 75w version and was pleasantly surprised to see that the heating element is relatively flat and short. Fits in the filter compartment with ease. It's metal (aluminum, I think) which is an upgrade from the usual glass heating elements on these heaters. -This 75w version heated my 10g aquarium from 53 deg (tap water) to 70 deg in 1h with ease. I'm confident it will keep the aquarium warm even when I turn down the room thermostat when I'm away on vacation. -I also liked the in-line controller. Little larger than some but has a nice display and is easy to set. -Recommended!
