Easy to Install AC Capacitor
Good start/run capacitor. It meets the listed specifications and is easy to install. Works very well in air conditioning systems and provides a reliable start. Good quality and great value for the price.

It Works! Way Cool!
The AC only chooses to stop when it's really hot out. Edsel Murphy reminds us that such failure times will happen late on a Friday afternoon, and after the local supply places and HVAC contractors toggle to "exorbitant prices for a service call three weeks from now" mode. As soon as I found the problem on Friday evening, the part was on order here, with a promised Monday delivery. The delivery Gods were hard at work over the weekend apparently, because the part was in my hand in time to get it installed well before lunchtime. Thanks Amazon, the folks in the warehouse and shipping, and those aforementioned delivery Gods in a dilapidated Post Office buggy. --- The capacitor works perfectly and the system has been hard at work since last Monday. This cap is slightly smaller in diameter than the original in our Carrier AC unit, solved with a little creative work on their bracket. Else it was a plug-and-cool effort. Daily mean air temps here have been running at least 10ºF above 'average'. July was all over 90º daytime highs, many 100's, new records set. At 4000' altitude in what's normally a low- to mid-80's resort area on the eastern slopes of the Cascades. Hot. How spoiled we are to have air conditioning. About a third of our neighbors don't. Bottom line -- Good working product, perfect for our particular application, all but self-installing, and at a great price compared with the local purchase options I explored. One of those was a company that explained that these are too dangerous for an amateur to even think of servicing themselves. Over $600 to come install one for me. Um, no thanks, I've got this covered... I'll probably get another one as a spare, and leave it stored in the unit. That should put the fear in the one I just installed, maybe enough to last at least the ten years plus two months that the original one was in service. On our ten year factory warranty... Stay Cool!

Air Conditioner Repair 101
Before the start of the hot weather we checked our central A/C system and found it wouldn’t start up. Found a YouTube video and using a multimeter we determine that the problem was not the motor but the start/run capacitor which was easy to replace. Well made and reasonably priced, we have been enjoying the A/C for months.

Half the price of local hardware store
Works great, fixed AC unit without repairman prices. Easy to replace. Fit right, unit ran without the compressor kicking on so changed this and now it does. Power outages and electrical surges could have caused the malfunction but easily fixed. Pay attention to what wires go where. Probably saved me anywhere from 4 to 6 hundred dollars from a service call. So happy I gotta just tell everyone

Fixed my AC problem
The capacitor was the proper capacity, but the capacitor was a little wider in diameter. No problem starting my AC unit. For the cost, it was worth it. I'd buy it again.

A/C is now in operation again
It's a Wisconsin Saturday and it is suppose to get hot and humid today and next 4 days that follow. I close the windows on turn on the A/C. The outside unit just hums before an auto shutoff but I see that there is no fan spinning. I shut everything down and basically reboot everything. I hear the hum again, I hear the furnace blower, but no outsize fan spinning. Gee, I wish I had a "spare" capacitor on hand. I was meaning to get one. Here it is, late on Sat. and nothing would be open that even might have this part. Amazon next day to the rescue. This A/C capacitor was a perfect size and spec, 35/5, fit. I selected this one because the size (Length and Diameter) was the same as my old one. I did not want to mess the a different holding bracket. Once this arrive I tested it with my multi-meter. All measurements within spec. (34.6/ 4.96 MFD) My old capacitor did fail the spec so I knew it was bad and it was 13 years old. Installed this new one and used a Sharpie marker to "date" it. About 10 minutes later the A/C is working again and the spouse is happy. Just remember that it is only on those hot days that you need the A/C, will a capacitor go bad. Save yourself this trouble and keep a spare.
