Great product

I used this recently when I went up to the west of Scotland, where the midges habitually eat me alive. I didn’t get bit once! It’s a strong smell, but it unpleasant and I much preferred using this to deet, which never seemed to work for me anyway. My new “go to”!

Really good, tried years ago and was keen to use it again, foumd some on here and just the job....kept the mosquitos at bay in Mozambique and even effective on the tsetse fly in Zimbabwe. Will be getting more for the next trip.

I recently switched from going for a run early in the morning to going for a walk. It seems that age (I'm almost 61) has finally caught up with me along with some, er, biomechanical challenges that were causing more frequent injuries. Anyway, mosquitos have always liked me, but now I am moving slower and offering them more chances to get me. I experimented at first with the travel size version, but then I got the bigger 4 oz. bottle once I learned it seemed to do the trick - bugs including deer flies would buzz me during the hottest months of the summer, but they wouldn't find any bare skin to suck my blood. I find that it is easier to spray some 2 or 3 times into my hand and then rub it into my arms & legs so I don't have to contort myself, and also the sprayer is most effective when the bottle is held upright. I'm less concerned about making sure I rub my hands together for areas that aren't as sensitive as my neck or face. I live in a swampy area which tends to be quite humid - I have spotted some paths that look like they go down around some of the swamps which I will save for the fall so it is not like being in the Everglades. I doubt this product will be effective against snakes, for instance.

I got this before and felt like it helped, but this time around the mosquitoes just ignored it. There were just too many of them, maybe, but it only seemed to help when freshly applied and still wet - within moments of drying, they were landing on skin like we hadn’t applied anything. My daughter is really susceptible to mosquitoes and it just didn’t cut it for her.

This product was recommended by a guide in Rocky Mountain National Park during a hike/class. I ordered two bottles and brought one out to Missouri, Lake of the Ozarks. We swam, and fished after hiking through natural landscape and tall grasses. The mosquitoes swarmed but didn't bite. A tick was on my husband's arm, but didn't bite. I accidentally sprayed my eye while getting my arm, but all-natural ingredients (lemongrass , peppermint, citronella) means it didn't irritate my eye after it was rinsed! This product is truly all-natural ingredients that work to repel bugs...I highly recommend it!

I spend a lot of time camping in mosquito infested areas, and a good insect repellent is a must have item. I stopped using any products with DEET about 30 years ago. Call me crazy, I just don't believe that stuff is healthy for people. I have tried just about every 'natural' mosquito repellent on the market. This one is by far my favorite. I picked it up on a whim in REI just before a two week trek into Glacier National Park and I was amazed at how well it worked. Needless to say I sought this product out again and found a much better price for it here on Amazon. It is safe to say that I am now a loyal Herbal Armor customer. I would say this product is comparable to Burt's Bees repellent, but in my experience this seems to work a bit better. This is the only natural repellent that even compares to the DEET based products for effectivity, but this has the added benefit of not coating your skin with man-made chemicals that will probably stay in your system for the rest of your life. Completely plant based - it doesn't any better than that!
