I used this to upgrade the hotend on my 8 year old Frankenstein's monster of a printer that was originally a Pursa i3 clone and it worked incredibly well. After PID tuning this new hotend has no problem holding 260 degrees with less then 1 degree of variance. My old hotend assembly would really struggle to hold a stable temp above 200. Overall a really solid hotend that I highly recommend.The hotend functions really well, It has really good heat isolation between the hotend and the filament heatsink, I have had no issues at all with clogs from heat creep. I always had issues on my old hotend no matter what I attempted to do to isolate it, but with this one even when the hotend is at 260 degrees the heatsink is just warm to the touch. Overall I am very pleased with this, it is a big upgrade to my old printer.Of course this was not a drop in replacement for my old printer, it required some dremal work to get it to mount in place. I got this Ender hotend because I had replaced the original extruder with a bowden type similar to what the Ender uses. This hotend uses a good bit more power then the old one but I did not have any problems from that as I had already replaced the old heated bed with a externally powered 400 watt 120v AC oil pan heater so that left plenty of headroom.I did not realize that this was 24v until after I had already fit it in place and my old printer was made for a 12v hotend, but that was not too hard to fix with a boost converter to step up the 12v to 24v. Great quality hotend. I've gotten several of these now to retrofit all of my K1 machines. This is by far and away the best upgrade for the K1. It works much better than the Microswiss or the other competitors we tried. It's important to get this official one rather than the knockoffs because the alternatives do not have as good of cooling for the heatsink. These are easy to install and once they get going it takes a lot to make a Unicorn nozzle wear down or clog.

In general the older style wrench works, but it doesn't fit these new heads. Still good enough to dig into the printer if you lost your original tools. Especially so because as this is a powerful upgrade. As a direct OEM replacement or upgrade option to an older printer, the full head is ready to go.Well, almost.You are going to want to disassemble this before installation as is it basically tacked together and not well at that. Basically it seemed like they just wanted to make sure all the parts were there to send it out. Easy enough to tune back up, though. The thermister needed to be reseated and the nozzle assembly needed to be re-greased for better contact. Just regular things that should get checked anyway.I wish that the kit included a thermal grease packet as not everyone has a tube in their supplies. Don't forget that if you plan on using different nozzles as you go.

This part works great. It replaced my nozzle that I cut the thermistor wire accidentally. Took about an hour to install. I'm very happy that it was a cheap replacement part

Perfect fit for a beat head that we broke a nozzle off in. We're back up and running.

2nd one I have bought, my K1 likes to blob up every once in awhile, but these are great prices and install with no troubles

I got this because I broke the ceramic on the head shipped with the unit. I had a clogging problem, but the fix ended up being lowering the extruder rate.Install was ok, though I had a friend help with that.
