Kuhn Rikon Serrated Piranha “Y” Peeler 6.25” Red

Wow! I have been using a variety of peelers over several decades, but this serrated version outperforms all of them, hands down!! It is very sturdy and well-made, and the handle is easy to grip. As others buyers have mentioned, this is super-sharp and very efficient, so always peel away from yourself! My only issue is that this peeler doesn’t come with a protective cover to put over the blades. I will try to create one, as reaching into my utensil drawer, with bare fingers, might not end well. 😳

Best peeler ever! Pros: 1. serrated edge also peels soft food like ripe mango and super hard veggie like butternut squash. 2. Ergonomic handle. Light weight. Comfortable and easy to hold. Reduces hand fatigue. 3. Easy to clean. 4. Does not rust. Cons: 1. Can easily peel your hand or fingers if not careful. 2. Does not have a sharp tip for cleaning potato eye. In spite of cons, I highly recommend this peeler. It is worth the price point too.

About 2 years ago, my daughter sent me one of these peelers. Other than the fact that I almost cut the top of my finger off with the first use, I LOVE IT! It definitely needs respect and care when using it. Last week, a friend and I were canning pumpkins and using my peeler...she had peeler envy. Of course. So, I bought another one to give to her. I know she will be excited to get. My only conflict is wanting to keep the new one for me, and give her my old, used one. Strictly aesthetics, it still works great. But, that's rude so she'll get the new one. It has continued to work perfectly, no rust, still sharp, clearns well and is built to last. It's very satisfying to use on both the outer peel and inside of pumpkins. Skip the cheaps knock-offs and buy this one. It's worth the price and you'll have it for years. (Just watch your fingers)

This is the most awesome peeler I have ever used. It peeled a long neck pumpkin and butternut squash like it was an apple. So easy. So sharp! Watch, because it will take the hide right off you too! But when used carefully, it is a fantastic tool to make light work of peeling difficult hard skinned veggies.

Best peeler I've ever used. First time trying this type of peeler. I a lways had the sideway kind. This thing make potatoes (and I assume any other thing to be peeled) effortless. Happy I foind it!

I got this based on online reviews. I peel a lot of vegetables every week and I like using only Y peelers. Overall it looks nicer in person, nice handles and ergonomics. But I expected a sharper peeler. For this price I expected a sharper, better peeler.

My Oxo peeler was my go-to standard because it has an ergonomic handle that makes it easy to hold. I've owned lots of peelers in my lifetime, and it cut as well as any other. I just assumed that peeling anything was one of those chores that one had to go through to get to the fun part of cooking. Then I met the Piranha, which I ordered after reading a review in one of my cooking magazines. Wow! That was my first reaction. The only thing that would make this better is if the peeler did the job without me. It shaves cheese and chocolate and strips the peel off fruits and vegetables (including squash) with ease and very little effort. I now realize the problem with every other peeler I've had is that they're just not sharp enough, requiring much more force than necessary. Oh, and I did worry about the handle, which is much narrower than my Oxo's. I've cooked (and baked) professionally, and ended up with a bit of arthritis, so a larger handle always made sense. But this works beautifully, precisely because it requires so little force to use it. Yes, I'm now in peeling/paring heaven and I'll never go back! I also purchased this for family members and they're just as happy as I am. And the colors are vibrant and fun.

Well made. Works perfectly. A long overdue redesign of a common kitchen tool.

This peeler is so sharp it makes peeling potatoes a breeze. The peel comes off in thin strips , no good waste, or repeated passes necessary. I was bragging to my sister how good this peeler was and she said she has had one for years and it is still sharp. She was delighted to see this brand now available on Amazon. I have ordered the swivel variety today as i find it more user friendly and is easier to peel away from my hand rather Han towards. Based on my sisters years of use with no dulling I will never buy another brand.

It’ll take skin off your fingers if you’re not careful but it is the best peeler in the world. This is the second one now as my first one that I’ve had for years ive lost somewhere 🤷🏻‍♀️ (or someone else has put it somewhere!!)
