Persevere
I was initially very dubious about these. They arrived in a small clear bag with no label or the advertised instructions. I counted them and found there was around 190 in the packet. That made me think that they measured them by weight and they were very old and dry. I soaked them for 24hr (Left in a bowl of water in the oven with the light on) and then planted about 40 in peat plugs and another 20 just in a mini greenhouse with some seedling soil. After about 30 days I was starting to give up and ordered another packet from another company I found online. Sod's law, today (about 35 days after planting) I can now see 5 of the 40 in peat plugs starting to push out some green shoots with a root poking through the bottom. Nothing yet in the potting compost, but I put some more in a pot with some wet paper 10 days after planting the first lot and some of those are starting to show signs of a root poking through so I have no doubt that more are on their way. After a bit more research you should expect to see something happen between 30-40 days of sowing, so don't give up if nothing happens immediately. Marked down 1 star as there were no instructions (Maybe they came by email and went to spam) and I have no idea if they are the clumping type advertised yet. UPDATE: They are clearly clumping from the way they are growing. I ordered some more seeds from another online supplier (came from India) and none of them grew at all. I still have more seeds left over from this order than came in the second ones that didn't grow.

They grow
I'm no gardener, but I soaked about 30 of these in water overnight and then 'peeled them out the husk(?). I then put them on a piece of kitchen roll, made that wet and placed in an air tight zip lock bag with some water in bottom. I then put that on a window sill and dangled the bag above a radiator underneath. I didn't expect much as don't know what I was doing (no instructions). All but about 4 had started 'sprouting about 10 days later when I checked!!! Transferring them to pots, I could yet fail!!

Leave it or order more, to ensure some sort of germination.
All the seeds planted. Not a single one germinated. I've grown Bamboo before. I understand that only a few per hundred (maybe a thousand) will actually grow but not a single one sprouted.
