These are well made and they look good but only if steam ironed or ironed with spray sizing. That's typical for linen but these don't respond AT ALL to "hand smoothing" even if fresh out of the dryer. A nice look; can go with formal or casual place settings, but look terrible un-ironed.

The color Is stunning and the fabric is very high end linen. I also got them in purple. It truly made my table look gorgeous!!!

Properly heavy pure linen; Beautifully finished & nicely presented; Deep black color. I like to set a nice table, and have been looking for some black napkins. I love linen and other natural fabrics. When I saw these, I decided to give them a try, and I am very glad I did. I have other napkins from this company, and they are lighted in weight. Unlike those napkins, these were advertised as being "medium weight". I am pleased to report they are clearly heavier than their other napkins that are NOT tagged as being medium weight. There is far less transparency in these than other dark linen napkins Solino Home makes. They are heavier in the hand, and fill a napkin ring better. Of course, if your napkin rings are not generous in size (not oversized, but some rings are half the interior dimension of other rings), then that might be a problem. The smoothness of the napkins gives them a very fine "hand". They are quite cool and lovely to touch. The material is not heavily slubbed like poorer quality linen I have seen from other vendors. The finishing is well done. The hems are about 1-1/4 inches deep, and the hemstitching is even. The napkins are folded, wrapped with a simple sisal string which carries a simple cardstock tag. They come in a box which slides out of the outer box. The box and tag are the color of kraft paper with black lettering. It makes a nice presentation for gift giving. They are on the expensive side, and they are worth it. 5 Stars

If you want elegant placemats and do not mind ironing, these placemats might be what you are looking for. They are lighter weight and nearly 4½ times more expensive (per placemat) than some other beige linen placemats I requested, but they are definitely more elegant than some other placemats. As a test, my Wife washed this placemat in the washing machine on a cold, gentle cycle (per the instructions), partially dried it on low in our drier, and then hung the placemat up to finish drying. I took a photo of two of the placemats – one out of the box and another after being washed and dried (photo). It is quite evident that some ironing will be required. PROS • Supposedly hand-crafted, elegant linen placemats. • These placemats are machine washable. CONS • Nearly 4½ times more expensive (per placemat) than some other linen placemats. • The placemats will require ironing if you want them smooth and flat.
