Very pleased with this purchase. Was looking at different boards, and was a little hesitant to get a folding one, but saw this one on sale for $25 and change, saw that it has favorable reviews, and decided to take the plunge. So glad I did! Board has a nice finish, piece storage is nice with the foam cutouts, and the board lays flat when opened up. The pieces themselves are not heavy, but aren't what I would consider lightweight either, they're a good balance. The magnets hold them well to the board and the style and finish are nice also. Purchased this to teach my daughter how to play, and this really is ideal. Board is big enough to allow her to move the pieces without easily knocking into others, but the magnets hold well enough when she does. Price to value ratio is great in my opinion. I didn't have to spend a bunch to have a nice quality chess set that will hopefully give a great return on investment with the memories made! Definitely recommended.

This set arrived a few hours after I ordered it much to the delight of my 9 year old grandson. This set is attractive and well made. The magnetism works well and the pieces store safely in padded compartments. A great value!

This wooden chess set is beautiful and high-quality. The magnetic pieces stick well, making it perfect for playing without constantly knocking them over. The magnets are strong enough that no pieces fall even if I hold the board upside down. That was actually the first test I did. I have played maybe 20-30 games so far and I’m still pleased with the quality. The pieces are heavier than I expected in a good way, but certainly not tournament weight or size. I paid full price and this was an unsolicited review.

5 stars for value. Yes, there are other chess sets out there that are nicer...triple weighed, solid mahogany, hands carved by a master tradesman in a remote alpine village. But this one is nice enough that I don't imagine anyone will judge you over it. And if they do, they aren't someone you want to hang out with long enough for a game of chess. If you're looking for a set that looks nice, feels nice, and that you can snag at a price low enough that you're willing to let your kids play with it, get this one.

Well-made, pieces are fairly heavy, nice inlay work on the board - latches to keep it shut and foam with recesses for storing the pieces. Wood finish is great. Magnets in the pieces not quite as strong as advertised, I doubt that the pieces will stick when the board is upside down like the listing says, but better than nothing. I like how they included a pretty complete set of rules for chess, nice for new players. Overall a good value, in my opinion!

This is a really nice set. A great value for the price. I was a little worried it wouldn't be nice enough because it's cheaper than other sets, but it looks great and feels high quality. This was a good buy.

上海から届きました。 外国からなのでドキドキしましたが、かなりいい感じ外箱は痛みがありましたが中身は綺麗でした。 木のコマもいい感じでマグネットの張り付き具合もいい感じ。 木の匂いもいい感じ。 クイーンがチェンジ用でそれぞれ1個余分に付いてました。 大きさも扱いやすい大きさです。 持ち運びには少し大きかもしれません。 この金額でこのクオリティで大満足です。

Great board- magnetic pieces, each with its own spot so its easy to make sure all are away when finishing up. No pieces lost after several months kf regular use with kids.

サクラみたいになっちゃいますが、全く不満はありません。とてもいい商品です。 ボード・駒、それぞれの質感も高く、磁石のおかげで遊びやすいです。 木材の匂いやニスの匂いは少しありますが全然きついほどではありません。 サイズが思ってたより大きかったので、確認してから買った方が良いと思います。 ちなみに、磁石は各マスの真ん中にあるわけではなく、ボード側全体に鉄板が入っているイメージです。
