Our 6 year old LOVES theses. They work well. She goes all over the house with them. She tested them outdoors a few houses down the street. She came in loud and clear. Inexpensive. They are hot pink. The picture looks a bit red, but they are definitely hot pink. They are NOT rechargeable. That would have made them even better. They each take 4 AAA batteries. So 8 batteries. Still, they are a fun toy or a good gift.

These walkie talkies are very good. They really work! Can access different bands. Too sophisticated for kids under 8.

Good toys with some minor flaws but decent enough for older children
Cute little toys and I do mean "little."They are small for small little hands and buttons are equally small. Voice carries over fine and it beeps to alert you that you or the other person has stopped talking or depressed the talk button. Backlight is ok...not the brightest and highlights only center spot of screen and not all of screen. Small font is on the bottom of screen and sometimes is hard to see at an angle. The flashlight button is a great idea though for camping or night time chat fun!The lock feature seems to only work for volume control and the power button BUT does NOT work for the push to talk button, flashlight button, channel buttons etc....all of these are still fully operational on lock mode. Lock button does NOT stop communications so there is no silence button.Overall, these seem much better than the ones I used as a child and though they are made for children, it seems it could work for adults too (pretty advanced IMO for smaller children without parental help).Would be 4 stars if lock function worked a little better.
