It works! Good replacement
It does work! I was very skeptical but this replacement pump works much better than the original the only downside is the sound. It does make a slight humming that was louder than the one that came with my water dish originally. It’s built exactly like the ones that come with the fountain so you buy the same filters and clean the same way. It has a little blue cover over the actual intake pump and you can remove that to scrub out all the dirt if needed. Major differences is the USB plug in. Very different than the AC pack from the one that comes with the fountain, I’ve had this two months and no problems though. Water flow is the same, I’ve noticed no change in the quality of the pump.

The pump last about six months
It works really well, but I looked at my purchase history. I buy this pump every six months so it lasts about six months and my cats water dish that’s kind of annoying.

Nice to have it written in the listing that it works with my Avalon fountain
The main difference between this filter and one sold for aquariums or garden fountains, what have you, is...um...yeah, pretty much no difference. Except! With this one they are listing the cat fountains with which it will properly work, based on its dimensions, and I'm not entirely sure if there might be some variance with this or that brand of aquarium fountain that makes it unsuitable. My general plan is I measure, compare - if the listing has dimensions listed - then comb through the reviews and hope some helpful other-pet-owner with the right brand of fountain has posted their results. Also, my own experience is that brands and manufacturers change - I am rarely buying the same pump a second time, years later. This one is working well, and should continue to for I'd expect at least 3-5 years unless I do something dumb like let it run dry. (Huge, HUGE no-no. Don't even let the water dip down past half way in the fountain would be my advice.) I don't expect, but will report here, any premature failure.

Great for a bit... then not so great
Pump lasted 4 months before it started making a rattling/grinding noise. It still moves water (for now?) but it's not in great shape. We've done or our best to clean it out to no avail.

Worked for 3 1/2 months then died
This was a pretty good pump for the first 3 and a half months, then it just died. I tried plugging it into another 5V source and nothing. I do like the simplicity of cleaning and the fact you can remove the impeller cover and flush all of gunk out. The output was actually better than the stock one and would probably spill over if the output was any higher. The price is relatively cheap, so I may try another one, but if the next one runs this short, I am done!!
