This is an awesome car for the price. Something you can take out and play with and not be afraid to break your expensive RC cars. It will need to have some upgrades. The parts that I put are not recommendations, they are just the parts I chose. Shocks were the only plug and play parts. The original shocks leaked oil within a week. The body needed to be cut to fit, the original body is a hard brittle plastic the breaks easily. For the body mounts I switched the front mount that was on the car to the rear and the rear to the front. The front circle needed to be shaved down a tad to fit back in. For this body the original width of the body mounts will fit the body I chose, the front will need new holes. The light is bright enough to actually make a difference but it is not extremely bright. I did splice them into original wires. There may be and easier way. The brass spacers are to give a wider stance and add weight. The rims needed to be drilled out a little, very easy to do. This car is fast for the size so the extra weight and stance helps with stability. Stock tires are great, just expect to buy new ones because you constantly will be pealing out, if wanting to do so. The controller is actually very nice with the speed limiter. The list of parts I chose are in the pictures.

Bought 3 of these. Durable, fast, responsive, so fun. Great for my kids, the settings on the remote are so nice. 100+ hours and love it even more. I sent an over-volted one into a concrete wall at 34mph and it just put a tiny crack into the cover. They’re so reliable I consider them family.

I'll come straight to the point...these HBX trucks based on the venerable 16889 platform (or the smaller 1/18 platform) are the best value in RC. They are not the cheapest, but the combination of price with the quality of design and specification is unbeatable. The only bad news is that you cannot buy this one or some others, direct in the UK and have to buy on Amazon.com, which adds to the cost due to tax and postage. The latest 16890A shares its chassis and most running gear with the 16889A, with a slight difference to the top link in the rear suspension and the rear shocks being mounted to the rear of the shock tower and arms instead of in front. This new truck has a different truggy style body and a green-coloured brushless motor that is 3500Kv, instead of the 3800Kv of the 16889A. In theory this should allow more punch for acceleration and places less heat stress on the motor and esc, but I have no idea whether they have up-geared it to achieve the higher claimed top speed or not. The truck is constructed largely of an engineering plastic, which is perfect as this plastic grade is very elastic and reluctant to break. HBX seem to have nailed the formula here, achieving good rigidity for sound handling, but great durability. Metal chassis parts are NOT an advantage on such trucks as they add weight, can bend or snap and transfer impact energy to weaker components. The truck is plenty fast enough and wholly enjoyable on 2s battery power and the manual states 3s is not recommended, although many people do seem to use 3s. In use everything just works well with no hitches and great design. The remote is a great one with no lag, good feel, lots of adjustability, including a power knob, so you can dial down power when inexperienced or handing to a child. The on-off switch is perfectly positioned at the side of the chassis, so can be accessed with the body on....just so convenient. The oil shocks are well-tuned and give the ride quality the feel of a much bigger truck, with minimal hopping or bouncing, controlled landings and smooth progress over uneven ground. The driveline parts are all-metal and seem incredibly durable. I have several HBX trucks at this scale and nothing has broken or worn out. If anything does, parts can be sourced via Amazon, HBX or the large, Asian online market places. The provided wing and wheelie bar are easy to install and the lights come already installed. A couple of tips I would offer: Firstly, although the provided USB chargers work fine, if you are using LiPo batteries, you really should be able to do a proper, balanced storage charge when not using them for a while. They should not be left at too high or low voltage, as this presents a risk and can damage the batteries. Get a simple balance charger that will do storage charge. I also use a low voltage alarm and battery checker to keep an eye on voltage. You don't want to discharge a LiPo cell to 3V or below, so the cheap alarms available on Amazon offer some reassurance and can be strapped down on the battery when running. Secondly, I spray the chassis and running gear with GT-85 PTFE spray. This provides a dirt and water repellent finish that does not attract dirt like oil-based products. The solvent flushes out dirt and dust from moving parts on application, then dries to a sheen to both lubricate and protect. After running, I use a dust blower and then apply the spray, wiping where necessary and the truck comes up like new.

I have to admit, I was honestly expecting to want to send this truck back and go spend the $$ on an ARRMA or a Traxxis equivalent after ruling out the Amazon clone for 1/3 of the price. BUT I'm impressed overall with the speed, stoutness and quality of this truck, and my son absolutely loves it on about 40% power (and one battery lasts a solid half hour at <50% power too). Honestly, anything over 80~% and it's constantly spinning even on dry pavement, it's definitely quick! NOW, I would gladly give 5/5* and my full endorsement to not bother with the big names until you're knee deep in the hobby, BUUUT...WHERE'S THE BRAKES?? Seriously though, it has forward and reverse. *IF you're quick enough to double tap the trigger into reverse it kinda stops, as it switches to go backwards. So close, but precise controls...like braking, are kind of a thing when these things move like a squirrel on too many Redbulls.

This little guy is a BEAST!! Absolutely worth the money! Better than 1/10 size in my opinion because I have four of these in a case that barely fit one 1/10 beast. Driven into the ocean by my bros kid, dried out, and still runs great! Has been fully submerged in muddy water and salt water, caught massive air off jumps, and I still haven't replaced any parts because nothing has broken, yet! Best little basher ever!

I picked this up wanting to get back into RC trucks after being way for about 12 or so years. I wanted something that was ready to run out of the box, brushless and had good reviews, this was a great decision! First off, it's not really a toy for youngsters, unless you work with them first because this little truck can move! I plan to pick up some 3S batteries (which this little guy can handle) and see how fast this can go. It handles very well once you have a few minutes to play with it. I can't say anything about durability because I've been pretty careful, but other reviews say this will take a beating and keep going. Battery life is really good on the provided 2S batteries and it's range is also quite good. Be sure to read the manual and adjust the controls if needed on the remote, but mine ran great right out of the box. You'll have a good time with this little truck, I'd buy it again in a heartbeat!

Es una camioneta excelente corre muy rápido y tiene regulador de velocidad para los niños. La recomiendo ampliamente ya que los materiales de construcción son de excelente calidad.
