Simple “set it and forget it” watering that actually helps
I bought this to make watering more consistent without constantly guessing when my plants are thirsty, and it does exactly that. Once it’s set up, the plant can take what it needs, and my soil stays more evenly moist instead of swinging between dry and drenched. What I like: - Helps smooth out watering, especially if you forget a day or two - Easy to use once it’s in the soil - Nice, clean look that doesn’t feel like plastic hardware sticking out of a pot Good to know: - It works best when it’s buried securely so it doesn’t wobble - You still need to match it to the pot size and the plant’s thirst level (small pots or heavy drinkers may need refills more often) - If your soil is super compacted, loosening it a bit can help the water distribute more naturally If you want lower-maintenance, more consistent watering, this is a great little upgrade.

It really works
I decided to purchase because my sprinklers went out in my garden. I tend to forget to water and thought, why not. I decided to put this next to my summer squash, one by my cucumbers and one in my peppermint pot. We'll during the summer everything still thrived as in addition when I watered, I would fill these up. The peppermint did ok, but I think it's because of the heat and not because of this. I decided to purchase another set and prep my garden again with these. You can't see it sticking out so looks hidden in the garden and hasn't broken, so it's nice and thick. I do like how much water it holds. As for the installation, it was easy. Just dig a hole and keep the top part a bit above, so no dirt or soil goes in and it's done. Then fill it up with water. Works great

Encourages deep root development by delivering waterdeep down.
These ollas really help release moisture gradually in my veggie garden, which is a problem living in the desert SW. I do not have an automatic watering system (too expensive to install), so this helps encourage plants to root deeper and get the water down there. Affordable and easy to fill by hand during your watering routine.

Best investment for planter and grow bag gardens
These things work! I use them in pots and grow bags. Dropped in where I have vining plants, tomatoes, peppers, and flowers. Like them so much I'm a repeat buyer as scale out across all my 1-10 gallon pots. For the price they knock it out the park. Highly recommend!

Delivers Sustenance to Your Root Systems Without the Need to Over-Water!
I first became aware of the concept of slow-drip terra cotta systems from a documentary about a zero-footprint property with a subsistance garden in arid north L.A. When I set up a raised bed for tomatoes on a south-facing slope, I embedded three of these alongside three tomato plants. Knowing the growing root networks for my plants are addressed below the surface has provided me confidence amid a summer with record-breaking heat. This provides a level of plant support between early morning and late evening watering that keeps our plants from being overwatered. Not only is this a great win for ecological watering, it’s a means of addressing the whole plant. That my plants are growing a great volume of fruit is no coincidence. These allow me to gauge just how much additional water my plants need without overwatering “just in case.” The bonus is if you cannot water for a day or so, you can feel good about the roots being fed in a measured, responsible manner. Don’t hesitate to get these!

not fragile
the biggest drawback I read in reviews of other ollies was their fragility. these are NOT fragile. beautifully and CAREFULLY packaged complete in individual boxes with cardboard collars around each to prevent breakage. the collars can later be placed around your plants as collars to prevent weeds growing around the plant. i will be buying MORE of these. they are beautiful and well made.

Largest watering pot for the price.
I did a lot of looking and searching before I purchased these watering pots. Things you need to consider before you decide on which one's you need are the size of the the pot you are putting them in and how much the plant you are watering uses. Some plants need more water than others, if you are an experienced gardener forgive me for stating the obvious. For my needs these have worked very well. They say they will water up to a week, again that depends on your plants and the weather if using outdoors. I use mine outdoors in tomatoes and cucumbers and have had to fill them twice weekly. I live in Oklahoma so I know in July and August the temperature will rise to triple digits from time to time and I will have to fill them more often but that being said I still think they will be a game changer for the health of my plants in those high heat conditions. I chose these aftering comparing many different types, the shape, the amount they hold, and price. These hold 23.67 oz (700ml) I found this to be the best and largest for the price and so far have been very pleased. I hope this helps in your search for watering needs. Happy gardening!!

Good clay bottles which work!
I am impressed that they really work! I was skeptical on recieving the clay bottles at first but gave it a try. Thanks to the slow-release water in each jug, my tomato plants really thrived esp during summer heat. I only have to refill every 6-7 days when the bottle is empty.
