I got as a gift for someone that’s always using their iPhone X for photo and videoso I thought this would be an inexpensive yet a quality item I purchased the dji osmo mobile 2 for myselfthe build quality of the steady pro to say the least is cookie cutter plastics the handle is totally cmooth andfeels it would slip out my hand and damage my phone this item usually retails for $99.00 dollarsand was on sale for $65.00 seemed like a great deal after holding this item I would not pay $100.00 dollars for this gimbalI paid $129.00 for my DJI OSMO Mobil 2 with extras . so I thaught a $99.00 on sale for $65.00 should be okOn a positive note the phone holder it self I feel holds my phone a lot better and is stronger than my djithe seller did a great job prompt service can’t complain.But I may return this item .

This gimbal is USELESS and a waste of money unless you have a small, older phone! The specs say 5” phones but can accommodate larger phones with the adjustable balance, but that 1/2” of movement is useless with a newer iPhone and the gimbal wont be able to balance it, even with a light phone. There’s just not enough adjustment. I did manage to get my iPhone 7+ to work with it, barely, but can’t use my wireless mic receiver plugged into the phone because it can’t balance the phone if I have to move the phone over 1/2” to accommodate the mic receiver. This company should update this design and bring it into this decade due to the common phone sizes being larger. Who’s still using iphone 5’s etc? What they really need to do is redesign it to a magnetic mount like the other brands. Save your money and go with a bigger name brand with a magnetic mount. You’ll be glad you did!

I have a Moto 360 camera for which I bought this to use, and I needed something to stay in vertical orientation. While it does do so in certain positions, there is not a dedicated vertical mode, as it's designed for landscape orientation. It also has trouble with heavier/thicker phone's.

For the price i can't complain, worked perfectly for my S8 and hasn't let me down, works good for music videos and perfect for those steady shots for my vlog.

Update: 04/21/2019I can't believe Amazon still allows this item to be listed on their market. This device is a piece of garbage and the company has stopped updating the App. It constantly restarts. This is fraud! I should sue for this."Device overload" is the only message i get when i try to use this thing. They advertise that it works with any smartphone, but it didn't work with my Sony Xperia XA1 Ultra that weights 188 g. I am so disappointed. Material is poor quality.It feels fragile and plus it doesn't even come with a case to store it in when you have to travel. Didn't work for me

All in all this has been great! I didn’t expect too much since this was so much cheaper than the other brands, but I was pleasantly surprised! Would definitely recommend. The only reason I didn’t rate 5 stars was because it sometimes wouldn’t keep the phone level.

I'm having some trouble with this. Each time I try to use it, everything is good for about 5 minutes and I've got the green light and then suddenly the camera violently turns vertical and a red/blue light begins flashing and then I have to turn it off. Do you have any suggestions of how to fix this? I want to use this for Facebook Live and our broadcasts are longer than 5 minutes, so I cannot use this unless we can fix this problem.Thank you
