I really enjoy this Maca product and I had better effects than with the two previous brands I tried. It worked very well for the first couple weeks of taking it and then I hit a bump where it wasn’t working as well. I tried another (lower quality) brand that was recommended and things were great again, but I noticed recently that the lower quality brand is a higher mg of Maca per capsule, so I am planning to try this brand again and just up my dosage to get better results. I spoke to my doctor about it that recommend Maca in the first place and she basically said that I metabolize faster than most people, so with this brand I was taking the recommended 2 capsules 2x daily for a total of 2000 mg a day - with the other brand I am taking 2 capsules 3x daily with a capsule amount of 995mg, so a total of almost 6000 mg daily which seems to be the perfect amount. With my doctors guidance, since this is higher quality I will start with 2 capsules 3x daily for 3000 mg a day and work from there - I will review again with results! I know this is already extremely long but I want to mention the benefits I personally have from Maca as a 23 year old female. - Increased sex drive - All day energy - Regulated my menstrual cycle (TMI: used to be heavy and happen twice a month for 5-8 days on average, now it is once a month for 3-5 days and PMS symptoms majorly improved) - Improved my anxiety (diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder - it did not CURE my anxiety but keeps me more calm and less panic attacks on average) - Weight loss! (This was a huge one because I read it causes weight gain, but I am thinking it regulated my estrogen to cause me to lose weight overall, specifically in my stomach, and my butt is now huge and my breasts are larger as well. This is without exercise or diet change.) - Better sleep quality Those are the ones I can think of off the top of my head, but it is not a placebo because I also have ADHD and sometimes forget to take my medications and supplements and definitely notice a difference when stopping. Everyone is different of course, but I highly recommend this product.

The first time I took this product I felt extremely irritable and had a bad headache. I didn’t take it for 2 days and then decided to take a small dose. This made my period come early but I just figured it was balancing my hormones so that is probably the reason. I gradually worked my way up to a full dose (2 caps) and I have felt some positive effects on my energy and sex drive, but it’s not consistent and I crash about 8 hours after taking it. I get a headache and have to take ibuprofen to relieve it. Sometimes I will take a second dose in the afternoon but most of the time I don’t. I have noticed that my joints, especially my neck, are more stiff and painful. All of these things go against everything that I have heard about Maca. I am going to keep taking it because if these side effects are just from my body adjusting I don’t want to quit before I really see the benefits! I intend to update my review in a month or so.

This brand of Maca was purchased during a time I was experimenting to find a better Maca product than the one I was using at the time. I noticed that all Maca supplements are not created equal and even with the same amounts of mg they will still fail to function the same. I’ve tried so many of varying strengths and blends and this is the only one I am committed to using. This brand gives regulates your system well. I have increased energy during times I need it and my sleep cycle began regulating shortly after. While it gives energy it is not stimulating. It brings you to a place where you need to be. Happy energy versus just being awake. Peacefully falling asleep versus taking medication to put you to sleep. This is safe and effective for other areas as well. While many of it is tied together it is finally tied correctly. I am back to having better control over my mood. I have a very high emotional IQ which causes me to notice negative mood changes easier. I have multiple sclerosis which comes with it’s own varying moods due to medications. However, I was able to stop taking something for sleep and then something for fatigue. I’m able to focus better because I am awake the correct way and happy about being that way. I love that this product truck works in a beneficial manner. The proof is that if I stop taking it for a week or more I do not automatically revert to an un-natural negative state of mind and being. This product has other little benefits that I believe will be different for each person. However, I do recommend this Maca over all others.

There are alternative gelatinized powders, not encapsulated, that deliver you much more maca for a lower price. 1 lb (453 g) vs 126 grams. This bottle is only 126 grams: 2.1 × 60 servings = 126 grams. 2.1 g daily seems like nothing. Taking it twice (4.2 g) cuts the 60 servings down to one month (30.) An alternative gives you 5 grams daily, and it is still *90* servings, 3 months at 5 grams. I bought a pound from Anthony's brand also on Amazon. I really want to give this root a fair try, and with such little quantity of maca I can't. This bottle is not good for someone like me. Even so, its presentation is good. The capsules smell good and delicious. I did find ~4 broken capsules, but it's still good quality. I noticed the capsules are a mixture of various maca. I have been taking 12 capsules, 8,400 g daily, and there is no acute psychological effect, neither was there a slight hint of difference over many days with the generic doses. Activated Vitamin B complex actually delivers results, even acutely. It is not immense, yet it's notable with vitamin B. In seeking a synergistic effect with moderate caffeine, vitamin B complex, and daily cardio, I've given DHEA a fair try only to end up with a pimple here and there. Haha! No help with energy even after various bottles. After giving maca a lengthy try, I will soon find out whether or not this actually takes time to work... For me. Even DHEA can be genuinely useful, though I didn't benefit. They say onions treat coughs after some time, though even if you take nothing, time itself will help you heal. It's your body doing its own work, and it turns out that putting onion peels underneath your feet, in your socks, is very useless. People don't care to filter any noise out from their alleged 'effective' observances. They go out, tell others funny things, and soon enough everyone is buying Socks with Onion Peels Inside for cough relief, a product of Amazon Just Basics. If people demand, someone will offer the supply. This is just a joke, but it's true. Those who are actually needy of genuine help don't succumb to placebo effect. Believing that your broken bone is no longer broken won't heal it. You'll only end up worse under negligence to treat it *truthfully* and effectively. This is matter. Not a single thought of yours will change faulty chemistry/matter in your body when something is truly needy of treatment. To address matter is the primary and only effective focus in treatment. Then your thinking becomes positive, without effort, and this also aids you in finding further avenues to stabilize you even more. Without the initial spark (matter), there is no effective therapeutic treatment, only selfdeceiving 'expert' care. Only one method is truly focused on delivering rapid/effective relief, and that would be the work of a genuinely competent Healer who addresses the matter, and the rest (energy/spirit) naturally follows :) A cheerful and healthy spirit is like medicine to the bones. Really shocked at how well this works. I didn't take it for increased libido or energy but to help with the hormonal imbalances of perimenopause. I took only one in the morning and one in the afternoon- it only took about two or three days for me to stop having all symptoms. I have much better focus and my mood swings are gone. I feel much more positive and happier, with evenly balanced energy. My boyfriend said I am much happier. It gave me enough energy to go back to the gym- which I look forward to now instead of dreading. I truly feel like I am 10 years younger. Things don't seem like a chore anymore, like cooking or folding clothes. There has been a difference in my attitude and focus at work, also. There is no down time or coming off of the dose like coffee or maybe ginseng. I feel tired and ready to go to bed when the day is done. Hot flashes or increased body temp were starting to happen- this has stopped. i sleep through the night and wake up ready to go. I don't feel on or cranked up. Just happy and ready to accomplish my day. It has seemed to help with the perimenopause bloating a little- haven't taken it long enough to see a long term difference. Has cut down on my cravings for sugar quite a bit. I've experienced a mild decrease in appetite. And yes, it does help in the libido department, but that was not my reason for taking it. I'm sad to experience how anxious and depressed the road to menopause can make some women. It seems so unfair and throws you into a tailspin. I didn't want to be moody or irritable with my loved ones- had no idea how bad it really was until I began to take this product and realized the difference in my mental state and symptoms. I'm taking this for acne. Here are the key points I've noticed: * Better acne control * Better moods * Less mood swings * More energy * Boost in female libido I will probably keep buying this brand. I have absolutely no complaints. At first I thought it gave me a headache.. but I realized I was not drinking coffee those days.. this seems to have taken away any of my interest or coffee cravings. I heard it helps promote weight gain and fertility. I am not trying for more kids and I have not noticed any weight gain.
