DURAGADGET **Quad-Pack** Indoor LCD Room Temperature Thermometer/Gauge With Stand And Digital Display - Perfect For Use In The Office Or At Home

I purchased 3 of these in November 2011, principally to monitor room zone temperatures onmy central heating system. When they arrived one was a bit hit and miss to start up (one other reviewer I seem to remember returned a purchase due to this) but I persevered and after a bit of 'fiddling' all was fine, it seems to be the snug fit of the back that cancause a contact problem. They have worked fine for over 14 months now and I think they arean excellent product. When I first received them I was a bit suspicious as to whether they would each be as accurate as the other, so I kept them within a few inches of eachother fora week and after a initial few minutes they settled down to all read within .3 of a degree.Since then I have had one in each 'zoned' area of my house on top of the room stats.Without exception they all read consistently 1 degree lower than the inbuilt room statdigital display - I have erred towards the room stat not being as accurate as the'Duragadget'Fast delivery, easy to set up, long lasting and accurate an excellent product.Ocober 2020, it is now some years since I purchased thees and apart form a couple of battery changes all 3have (and still are) performed perfectly- a great little product.

I wasn't sure of the free LCD leaftlets from my energy company that show the room temperatures in my home; the accuracy was questionable and I wanted something with a bit more precision. My new heating system also has a similar digital readout and having spent a bit on the new system I wanted to know what kind of temperature each of the rooms gets to. This is whereupon I discovered the Dura Gadget digital thermometer.However the reviews on this product only go so far - the actual unit is tiny - a bit like a box of matches and not the Cook's Kitchen sized ones, either! The little box doesn't look like a very good product at all, but I was prepared to give it a chance. It comes with a single LR44 LCD watch style battery and it is activated as soon as the pull strip is removed. There's a handy pop out stand but also a far more permanent single hanging hole on the back of the white unit.In use, I like the readout that the Dura Gadget thermometer gives although it is a pity that the screen isn't backlit and that the LCD numericals are black. Temperature choices are available in either celsius or fahrenheit and the simple operation by the two buttons are easy to operate and they aren't cheap feeling. Generally this digital thermostat offers a reading of 0° Centigrade to 50° Centigrade.There are no paper instructions with this tiny little gadget other than basic info written in English, French and German on the packaging box. The white body helps a fair bit though as it makes the reading easier for me to see. If all you want is a simple and accurate digital home thermometer to measure the heat temperature in your home, I recommend this little gadget. (c)NR2 2015.

I bought a 4-pack of these after making changes to my heating system so that I could better monitor the temperature in different rooms. It's quite hard to find a unit that ONLY gives temperature - so many of the devices throw in a whole load of other features that I don't need - I just wanted a small, simple, discrete thermometer and this is it.As you can see from the picture, after a couple of hours to let the units settle down, they all read within a fraction of a degree of each other and around half a degree lower than my established heating controller - that's good enough accuracy for me. BTW, you see a significant change in the reading, depending on the height from the ground where you place it in the room, so it was easy to choose the right spot in each room to match the reference temperature on my old heating controller.The thermometers each come with the LR44 battery required to power them - on arrival, 2 of the batteries were duds but the seller (DuraGadgetUK) quickly remedied this and posted replacements - excellent service.

Nice looking item. Unfortunately they do not accurately reflect the true room temperature. It is necessary to add at least one degree to the digital figure shown to reflect the correct temperature.

Items arrived well within anticapated delivery period 2 to 3 days. Thermometers were as described matchbox sized, no problems with battery compartment mentioned by other sellers. The thermometer is powered by a "button" type battery and you just remove the sellophane protector to activate battery. Thermometer can stand alone on a surface or wall mounted. I bought them to check room temperature in room with a wood burning stove and in other areas in the house to see how well the heat travelled. The thermometers are within 0.1 of a degree of the central heating thermostat in our hall which is fairly accurate. Very pleased with purchase and price, but postage a bit steep but still worth it overall and would recommend.

Pros:They seem accurate, side by side they both read the same to within 0.2°CThey appear solid and well madeCons:No instruction booklet provided, as per descriptionThe stand on the back doesn't open enough, therefore you cannot read the display unless you are parallel to the screenThe battery tag is impossible to remove, you have to remove the battery cover then take out the battery to get the tag outThe dimensions of the thermometers should be listed as they are much smaller than I had anticipated, only 6 x 4 x 1.5cmThe un-printed buttons can only be clearly seen at the right angle in a well lit placeDue to their tiny size i'm not exactly sure what i'm going to be able to do with them, as at home they would be easily lost on a shelf and look a bit ridiculous mounted on a wall.

Good temperaturate measuring, I would say. I bought 2 and placed them together and they measured with 0.3 centigrades. I then compared those two against a different thermometer I had (and a more expensive one) and the measurements were again pretty close. The price is also faultless. At this price I would expect a more imprecise measurement! My only surprise was the relative small size but it doesn't hinder on the readability...

This small, easy to see, inexpensive digital thermometer is great to have on every floor of your home to determine if you have the same temperature on each floor.

I ordered 4 of these thermometer for use in our office. They work fine with the exception of the calibration of the temp. They seem to be about 1-2 degree lower than the actual temp. Also, they don't register the same temp. There is about a 1 degree difference between the lowest and highest. They serve the purpose at a low cost so overall I am satisfied.

This is inaccurate. Don't waste your time. I have yet to buy a room thermometer that is. I have 3 and they all give different temperatures. Don't waste your time.

Works very well, a bargain price.

I bought this because my thermostats for baseboard heat do not have ambient temperature read-out. It is reliable but I took away 1 star because the installation is pretty flimsy (just hangs on a nail on the wall). Overall good product.
