Top Quality Bowsaw
Very good quality, made in Portugal with company part of Swedish group. Solid, should last a lifetime. Great blade protector included as well! Well worth the additional money over similar items manufactured the other side of the World.

Brilliant.
Cuts like slicing butter.I will be using these for my forest school, once I have raised the funds I will be getting more for the kids.

Good quality and robust - very easy to swap blades
I've been using this for three weeks and so far so good. The saw came with a blade for dry wood (top blade in picture) so purchased a extra blade for fresh wood (bottom blade in picture - notice the extra gaps between teeth which make all the difference on damp wood). The blades take a minute to swap and make a big difference - just tighten up before use. Make sure you use the right blade unless its the odd one off. Cut like butter so treat it with respect. The safety strip pulls down about 1/2 way so it is easy to slip on blade when no in use (not obvious at first). Use a little oil or WD40 to keep it clean and rust free.

Good grip
Excellent saw, good grip, only drawback is it rusts quicker than I’d like

Trees watch out!
With the wife having an opinion on just about everything that doesn't affect her, I needed a method of chopping down trees that requires little set up, is quiet and quick. I bought this beauty having read other reviews and chatting to some friends who backed up the positive view of Bahco products (although no one agrees how to pronounce it). My investigation lead me to purchase the 23-30 Raker Tooth blade in addition to the one supplied as the supplied blade is set for cutting dry wood and I need to chop down live (green) wood. I considered knocking a star off for the fact that I couldn't find a combination of saw with the blade I wanted to begin with, but I will need both blades eventually if I end up cutting up dry logs (so I have assumed the supplied blade will perform as well as the other one I bought). Before I bought this saw, I would have to use an old petrol chainsaw that my best friend has loaned me. Consequently, the wife would usually be out voicing her opinion as soon as she'd hear me starting the chainsaw. That in turn led to fewer trees being chopped down and me having to return to the house to watch some appalling American TV show about vampires. Now, I can offer her a cup of tea whilst she watches the telly, sneak out the backdoor to the shed to get the saw and tension it, come back inside to fill the teapot, then nip back out run down the garden chop down a tree and run back in time to pour the tea and deliver it. Sometimes I'm asked "What was that noise?" to which I respond that I've been splitting logs and I head back out to fetch a couple in whilst at the same time taking the saw back to the shed, de-tensioning it and giving it a clean. The wife has never noticed that the trees are getting thinner, but she is enjoying the extra firewood and light in to the garden. Fair play to her though, she noticed that it is hard work cutting logs with a bow saw so she bought me an electric chainsaw for my birthday and she's been cute enough not to buy an extension lead that would allow me to get down the garden with it.I have used this saw to chop down trees with trunks up to about 24" wide (the big ones have been in consultation with the wife) and whilst this does require a bit of effort it is well within the capability of the saw. I'm not a great fan of climbing trees with a petrol chainsaw so I prefer to take this up with me to thin branches out before felling the tree (or just to thin them). Using the bow saw is also a good bit of exercise. I usually chop the tree into movable chunks with the bow saw and then I cart them up to the drive to cut them and split them into logs for the fire. I do use the petrol chainsaw to chop up the bigger trees. I don't find a 'log splitting grenade' any more useful than a normal wedge (I've never managed to split a log in 4, but it does never get jammed). I also find a normal felling axe to be equally as efficient as a maul for splitting logs. A small hand axe is also required for chopping up kindling. The construction of the saw is first class. The tensioning mechanism is robust and the hand guard is strong enough to withstand the occasional impact it should receive and more.

Quality saw
This saw is very effective. It cut through 12inch diameter tree, takes time and sweat but did not break. Highly recommended for cutting down medium size trees.

Top notch piece of kit
Product is superb, excellent quality, I purchased the Bahco 10-24-51 Bowsaw and the Bahco 23-24 Raker Tooth Hp blade for 'wet' wood. If you're considering purchasing a cheaper product don't waste your money, this is a quality tool with a razor sharp blade, made cutting a breeze. The saw body itself is strong yet light weight, easy blade change with the benefit of being able to tension the blade. a very well made tool, like most things in life, you get what you pay for.

excellent quality = great blade guard - fits under a truck or SUV's back seat
this is a great quality saw for under the seat of your truck/jeep - I have cleared fallen trees from the back roads many a time - It cuts good and has an excellent blade guard. Got trapped on a back road once by a 2 foot diameter fir tree - had not put my saw back in my truck at home - took three hour with concrete scraper sharpened by a chain saw file that luckily were in the back of the truck to get through.... never leave home without it!

Bahco 30-Inch Ergo Bow Saw – Clean Cuts, Solid Frame, Easy Control
A few months ago, I picked up the Bahco 10-30-51 Ergo Bow Saw 30-inch to test it on a three-day camping trip. I also brought a battery-powered chainsaw because I wasn’t sure how well the bow saw would perform on dry wood. After using it, I was really impressed. The blade is very sharp, and the handle includes a knuckle guard for protection. The tensioning mechanism also allows you to quickly tighten or adjust the blade without tools. At around 865 g (about 30.5 oz), it’s light enough for camping or field use.Overall, it’s turned out to be a fantastic bow saw for a reasonable price. It features a lightweight but very rigid steel frame and a high-tension blade system that keeps the blade tight for straighter, more accurate cuts. I used it to cut 4–8 inch dried and aged pine logs, and the 10–30–51 peg-tooth blade is specifically designed for dry, seasoned wood, allowing it to cut faster and cleaner through already dried lumber. Starting cuts was easy, and after a few short initial strokes of about 10 inches, it would settle into smooth full-length cutting. It was so efficient that I didn’t need my battery-powered chainsaw during the entire trip. I relied solely on this saw for five days of camping, and it handled all my firewood needs quickly with very little fatigue.A word of caution: I never place wood directly on the ground when cutting, instead supporting it against other wood to avoid dulling the blade. I also recommend wearing gloves if you’re not experienced with this type of saw, since proper handling matters for both safety and control. Replacement blades are also quite affordable (under $20) and extremely sharp.I don’t throw the bow saw around or leave it exposed to the elements. I typically store it in my truck bed and loosen the blade tension when not in use. I’ve seen videos online where people throw tools from extreme heights to test durability, which I think is unnecessary and careless. That kind of treatment will definitely damage it. It’s an excellent bow saw for camping, and if you take care of it, it will take care of you.

GOOD QUALITY!
