simplehuman Tension Arm Standing Paper Towel Holder, Brushed Stainless Steel

I purchased this item in June 2014. It provided awesome support for paper towels until July 2026, when one of the plastic connectors broke. 12 years of reliable service makes it money well spent. I immediately ordered the 2026 model.

I purchased this to replace a similar one (not simplehuman brand) that broke after only a few months of use. In fact, several other models I have purchased in the past have been disappointing. After several months of use, this one remains in perfect condition. The grip (tension arm) is very strong and I can tear individual sheets at a time without pulling the entire roll. The base is heavy so the holder does not move and shift around when using it. The design is sleek and modern and the stainless steel is not too shiny. It's a nice finish. It is exposed to constant water and moisture and has not rusted at all. Highly recommended. It looks and works just as described. I also really like the top loop finger hold for easy carrying and moving around the kitchen where you are cooking/cleaning. Highly recommended.

Build quality of this paper towel holder is fantastic. Has a wonderful tension arm that allows you to rip the paper towel to your desired length. It’s so good and works perfectly that I have purchased two of them. One was purchased a few years ago. The other one was purchased just recently. My neighbor loved it so much I gave it to her. Definitely worth the price if you don’t have a wall-mounted dispenser. Works great on the porch and in the backyard eating at the picnic table. Easy cleanup if it gets dirty because it’s made of stainless steel. All I do is use some stainless steel polish and it looks brand new. Excellent for a housewarming gift or a Wedding gift definitely a kitchen essential.

I wanted to upgrade my old paper towel holder because I hated having to use both hands to rip a piece off the roll. This one is definitely an upgrade looks-wise, but I found you have to rip it a certain way to only get one piece at a time. The tension arm that touches the paper towel isn't rubber/silicone, so you you have to rip it the right way or you will end up unrolling your paper towels. Overall it's a nice piece to have in the kitchen once you figure out the trick to ripping off one piece at a time.

I have been on the market for a paper towel holder, but I do A LOT of research before purchasing anything. Several things came to mind of what you need to look for in a paper towel holder > Can it fit the size of rolls you use > Is the base heavy enough so you can use it one handed > Is the arm heavy enough so you can use it one handed > Is the design cosmetically appealing The answer to all of the above is yes for me. I saw this item featured on America's Test Kitchen (a show on PBS in America) and decided I would give it a try. It weighs slightly over 2 pounds, which is generally the magic number to have a sturdy paper towel holder, and the arm is actually helpful. You can tear off your paper towels so that you don't need two hands, and it can support the largest jumbo rolls you can find for it. Excellent product all and all. The only complaint I can come up with (not a huge deal at all), is that sometimes, I get 2 sheets instead of 1 when trying to remove a paper towel. Granted these are the ones that allow you to select smaller sizes, but there is more wasted paper that way, or it requires that I use a second hand so I don't get both. Not a huge complaint, nor worth sending the product back for, but figured I make note of that.

My home is now 25 years old and the cabinets need repair work. The holes from my old paper towel holder on the cabinet door are so large now from years of screwing new paper towel holders into them, that you can no longer attach another one to the cabinet. I decided to try this simplehuman paper towel holder simply because I have other simplehuman products in my home and I have found the BRAND to put out quality products. I am 68 years old & my hands are in bad shape due to arthritis. I am able to very easily tear off any size (select a size roll) piece of towel that I need without having to hold onto the paper towel holder itself. This is very handy if your other hand is dirty (cutting raw chicken, etc). The finger hole on the top is handy as I can grab it and take it from the sink area to the island to the table. It does not tip over when trying to grab and tear a piece of towel off and the tension is adjusted perfectly in order to be able to pull the amount of towel you need. Once you tear off what you need, the tension bar holds the towels in place so the paper is not flopping all over the place. All - in - all I am extremely happy with this purchase. I am going to have to purchase another one though, because the kids take it back to the bathroom to clean their bathroom and then don't bring it back to the kitchen, so I guess I need to get one for them to keep in their bathroom!!! Hope this review is helpful to all of you who are on the fence about purchasing this product.

Wow! What an improvement over my old useless 29 (yep, 29!) year old paper towel holder. So, with this simplehuman Tension Arm Paper Towel Holder, the roll of towels just pops on, and the slightly curved tension arm holds the roll in place while you tear a towel off with one hand ("Look, Ma! One hand!"). You don't have to hold this towel holder in place with the other hand because the base is weighted and has rubber feet on the underside (be sure you clean lint/dust/crumbs off the rubber feet once-in-a-while to ensure the towel holder doesn't slide around). I use Bounty Select-a-Size paper towels, and sometimes cheaper select-a-size house brands. And it works every time. You do have to ensure you pull your paper towel about a half inch or more farther than the perforation so that the next paper towel is both held in place by the tension arm and easily accessed for the next time you need one. Easy to use, easy to clean, and looks nice on the countertop. I love it! Goodbye, 29 year old Country Blue paper towel holder!

Watched a YouTube video from “America’s test kitchens” or “Cook’s Country” testing Paper towel holders. I am skeptical by nature, since so many products I have tried that sound great end up being inferior. This holder does what it advertises, and it was recommended hands-down over other towel holders during the test. Its design weight stays put, and it really is a one-hand operation while tearing off a sheet. It does take a little practice to learn how far to pull out a sheet so it easily tears off straight. After about three tries, I had the hang of it. It is also extremely easy to install a new roll-nothing to remove or unscrew. It’s the little things in life that make us happy, and I am very happy I bought this.

This paper towel holder is one of the Best Buy in my kitchen, highly recommended strong and steady 👍👍👍👍👍👍

This product is excellent! My mom's jaws dropped when she heard I spent $33 on a paper towel holder, but it works exceptionally well. The tension spring is just right to hold a piece of kitchen towel nicely and the base is super solid. To test the sturdiness, I tried to knock it over from all angles and it just keeps coming back to the upright position. It was only when I tilt it at an unreasonable angle that it actually topples over. I used to have loose kitchen towel dangling all over the tables and now it's nice and tidy!

Another quality product from Simplehuman. Looks great, heavy duty, well made and really works one handedly. Beware of buying the correct size though. The big one is too big for standard rolls and although it works OK it looks less than elegant. I was still so impressed I bought the smaller one.........in fact I bought 3 - as I like one within easy reach throughout the kitchen.

Genial, es muy práctico. Tener las manos manchadas en la cocina y solo tener que estirar el papel. Es bastante estable, ya que pesa, por lo que al estirar rl papel no se se mueve. Totalmente recomendable 👌 y un gran descubrimiento. No descarto regalarselo también a alguien de mi familia

Super gut! Steht stabil! Sieht schön aus. Das einzige- man braucht ziemlich dicke Papierrolle um das zu "befüllen". Ansonsten sehr schön!
