Devilman Grimoire Vol. 2

Enjoyed the second volume very much. I like this new twist on sirene. Miki continues to be far more involved, and is key to unlocking Devilman's strength. This is the first major villain in the series, and it also introduces an original character by the name Tsubasa Rainuma. I cant wait to see how Sirene plays in the over all series.Art continues to impress. Worlds better then Go Nagai's art, which makes it very easy to read, and the characters are quite expressive. There is fanservice, which is sadly very common in japanese media but i personally dont mind. but if you hate upskirt shots (to my memory there was only one in this issue) and teenage nudity, i would not read this.As the header shows, this manga shares many similarities to the 1972-73 anime, Amon is the main character, not akira, who has been pushed aside. As i staited before, Miki is much more gun hoe, holding a significant place in the story and being much more fleshed out then she was in the original manga. Ryo will not be appearing in the series, tho their will be a character named Ryo, and a character that looks like him in the series. both will play a role in the plot. Akira also calls out the names of his moves, much like his old 70s anime counterpart, Finally Akira goes on from fighting one foe to the next. They structure may change, as while i am aware of some of the upcoming plot points, i dont know them all.And of course there is gore and mature themes, as is common with Go Nagai.I highly recommend this if you dont mind a departure from the original manga, or are not familiar with the franchise and need a place to start.

Very interest alternate take on the Devilman story. Gory, sexy, horrific but quite funny at times too. And very romantic at times too. A fun read for adult readers.

I loved it looking forward to last 3 volumes of Devilman Grimore.
