The cream is surprisingly moisturizing. After application, the cream dries within 60-90 seconds so you are able to touch/type on keyboards/ and generally use your hands without the worry of leaving a greasy residue. This cream will not protect your hands from any type of acid, acetone, or any other harmful chemicals (always wear the appropriate protective gear when dealing with harmful substances or chemicals). This will make it much easier to clean your hands while fixing broken hydraulic cylinders, busted gaskets, and anything else that gets your hands dirty, oily, greasy, etc. I used to have to wash my hands several times with Grit Industrial Hand Soap, and now everything comes off with only one washing. Re-application of the cream is required after washing your hands with Grit soap. Overall: The quick dry time after application, keeping your hands moisturized, not having to use gloves in tight spaces, 3-4 hour longevity, and easy cleanup are all benefits of this product.

I have tried multiple products to keep your hands as clean as possible. This seems to be the best that I've tried. You use very little per use, it does not stay "wet" which several other products seem to do and it works as well as any of the others. I use it for doing mechanic work, building things as well as working outside in the dirt and it work for all of these uses. I don't use it to heal my hands but only to protect them for oil and dirt. Seems to fill in the cracks, under the nails, etc. and also seems to make all the oil easier to wash off. One thing I really like is when i do get used oil or gasoline on my hands, this stuff seems to prevent it from absorbing in, and lets me easily wash it off. This is a huge plus.

Thick, rich cream that vanishes almost instantly into hands. Not a bit greasy---leave skin feeling silky smooth and soft. Its sort of amazing. I'm not sure how long-lasting the chemical barrier aspect of this cream will be---it seems to fade more quickly than liquid gloves, which I also like to use. But at the beginning and end of the day, this stuff will help keep your hands soft and crack-free. I think that its pricey.

I got this on the recommendation of a coworker due to me working in a lab environment which exposes me to cancer-causing chemicals on the daily which have the immediate effect of causing my arms neck and face to break out with same day exposure. I have found that sunscreen and makeup actually provide just as effective a barrier to this exposure for me so I have less use for this product since i wear sunscreen as part of my overall skincare routine everyday anyway but i still keep this product on hand at work just in case im lacking my primary means of skin protection and highly recommend it for anyone with sensitive skin. It does work after you let it sit for about 15 minutes of non-exposure (kinda the same concept as with sunscreen ) and it seems to last all day with reapplication not being needed (unlike sunscreen) which helps you with making it stretch. My skin did not break out after use, as i am acne prone, so its good to note that this did not seem to clog my pores. I found that a thin layer still left me exposed and rash-prone to the chemical exposure, so it did take a second layer to provide proper consistent protection. Otherwise, quality product and feel. Non-greasy and you basically dont even notice its on after initial application. Seamlessly blends in with your skin in texture and appearance.

I recently started throwing ceramics seriously. When I have taken a class, my hands would get dry and cracked from handling wet clay. So I bought a tube of this stuff. My hands are... well, they are old man hands, as one would expect on an old man. But this stuff has protected them. No excessive dryness, no cracking, no discomfort. The lotion disappears into my skin and feels like nothing. It does not interfere with my clay handling. So far, I have not noticed it leaving a residue on my pottery, but I have yet to use it while glazing, which is where that can become a big problem. It has a kind of industrial chemical smell, but in a good way.

The stuff rubs in well and doesn’t leave any signs that it is on your hands. So it is not slippery or sticky. But it does not appear to relieve any skin dryness. Not that I noticed it claiming to. I am not sure what it protects from but it is a good to know that it is there protecting my hands. It does appear to wash off easily. Probably not a product that I will purchase again since it is a product I cannot feel or see any benefit from.

I used to work in hotels and the annual training that we went through regarding biological hazards and cross contamination in the kitchens are still in the back of my mind, so I wash my hands pretty frequently throughout the day - probably 10 - 5 times a day. Because of that, my hands seem to always feel dry. I have lotion in every room of the house so it’s available when I need it. I have this lotion next to my recliner so when I’m watching TV or working on my laptop, it’s handy. It works pretty well and lasts through one hand washing but not much further beyond that. It’s not super thick or greasy so if I’m doing paperwork, I don’t have to worry about greasy fingerprints on the pieces of paper . I purchased another product last year called Gloves in a Bottle and that product lasts longer than this one does so I probably won’t buy this product again. It’s not ineffective, I just need some thing that will continue to moisturize my hands through multiple handwashing’s during the day so I don’t end up spending a fortune on lotion every year.

I work with Chlorine and pool chemicals, so my hands take a serious beating. Add to that- constant hand sanitizer and hand washing.... my knuckles would break open and bleed just from closing my hand. No amount or brand of lotion was working. I searched for something that could protect my hands (especially while working with spas/chemicals) and found this product. I am SO impressed with this stuff. It literally saved my hands. Especially as a woman, I’m telling you- lifesaver (or hand saver, really). I would recommend this to anyone who works with any kind of chemicals/oil/etc. You don’t have to use a lot, so it goes a long way. It’s not super greasy or anything, it’s actually extremely light compared to some of my expensive “girly” lotions that didn’t help at all. I don’t have to worry about wearing it and working with water because it doesn’t bleed off my hands and cause greasy water. It doesn’t smell great, but it doesn’t smell bad either. Anyone who needs to use this won’t care anyways. Overall, 10/10 recommend. They’ve got a customer for life with me.

Got this to protect hands from fluids (brake fluid, oils, etc), and it’s incredible! It prevents dust, dirt, and all sorts of other nasties from sticking to the skin. My husband is bothered by welts and bumps caused by allergies and his sensitive skin, but this cream prevents all those problems. It washes off like a dream, leaving hands clean and soft ... and it takes all those nasties with it! Highly recommended for mechanics and anyone else who works with their hands, especially around chemicals that could cause skin irritation. Will definitely buy this again.

I was skeptical about this product, but after using it for a few days of working in the garden, I just love it!!! I wish I had found this cream years ago.

The advertised bottles are 3.38fl oz and the product is priced accordingly. I ordered two and received two 2.2fl oz bottles instead. 35% less product than I paid for and ordered. Blatant false advertising. The product (Workman’s Friend Superior Barrier Cream) itself has worked well for me in the past, although I’ll be returning these bottles of it.
