VERY DETAILED REVIEW on the iVUE 1080 glasses
Nice improvement over older 720P version of iVUE glasses. The rubber ear piece covers keep coming off and I've lost one of them. Other than needing to glue those in place they are a little tighter on my wide head than the previous but the quality of video is much better and the audio more sensitive. No editing software needed since the glasses hold a memory card. I installed a 32GB card I got online for 18$ and now can fill it up on the road without needing to clear it with a laptop. Comes with a wall recharger and USB cable. IMovie imports the entire card with one click now which was not the case with the old 720 HD glasses which required each AVI file to be imported one at a time to prevent sync issues. This MOV apple format is much better and they can be edited or just uploaded right from the glasses through a PC to youtube. They come with clear and smoked lenses and not the yellow shooter lenses the others did. The lenses from the old iVUE glasses are the same fit so I just used a spare set in these glasses. The lens sticks forward a little farther than the previous model but they seem better made and more sturdy frame. You should use rubber cement like "Goop" to glue the rubber ear sleeves the moment you get them. The biggest improvements include audio beeper that clearly lets you know the glasses are being powered up and beginning to record with repeat beeps. One solid beep when you shut them off and they stop recording or they run out of power and die. I get about 1 hour out of the batteries but that's with the quality set to 720HD mode instead of 1080. You really get a better video quality in 720 mode compared to the previous 720 glasses. So the lens itself (sensor) is much improved. Even the 300$ pivot head glasses fail my tests because they are not wide angle. The iVUE glasses catch a wide view left to right and up and down so shooting and other high speed sports have a much more realistic "you are there" view. Otherwise you feel like your getting sick watching through a bottleneck. This is a main feature. You don't get an unacceptable amount of warping or fish eye from the lens either. It's very fun to watch. My youtube channel /GeorgiaShooter is packed with videos from both the older 720 glasses and these new 720/1080 glasses. You also edit a small test file on the glasses which includes all kinds of options, audio and video settings. Just remember to enable the one option that makes the glasses suck up the new settings next time they power on. Once they power on an take your new settings the file is automatically set back to default contents. This is far improved from the cheesy way the old glasses work with it's settings file.Teton Webstores is the place that actually sells these and their support is decent and they have replaced my older glasses two times after the initial warranty. So I like the support and they are USA based with Email response same or next day. I changed from four to five stars because even having to glue the ear pieces these are about the best glasses for the money you'll find.

Excellent Video Quality, Nice-Looking, Good Fit
I bought this primarily for recording racquetball, which is generally difficult to film and which requires a high frame rate due to the speed of the game and the ball. 60fps is a lot better than 30fps but it'd be nice to have 120fps or even higher. I am extremely pleased with the basic video quality - even after youtube compression it still looks good. The glasses seem to be quite sturdy, well made, and nicely finished, but after reading the reports here of plastic failures I've been handling them with care and have had no problems. I have a fairly large head and the glasses fit great - snugly enough that they had no tendency to fall off during play, but not uncomfortably at all. Battery lasted about 1 hour, which was about 6GB of memory at 60fps and highest quality. The included USB cable is crap and had to be replaced. The case is OK but too small. Changing settings via text file is easy and intuitive thanks to the embedded prompts/defaults. They look good and people generally don't notice the camera.Sample video can be seen here: http://youtu.be/qirdT5tjO_E

Junk. Frame cracked just from putting them on.
Use: On bicycle for running local errands.Pros: Good high resolution video. Not much else.Cons: Battery good for 1 hour. Four hours to recharge. Must plug in after every use. Ridiculously narrow frame must be stretched wide to get them on. Grips head so hard they creep forward and must be pressed back into place. Fragile frame cracked after putting them on 71 times in total. (I saved the videos I took each time I wore them. I have 71 of them.) Never dropped them and always stored in case.Verdict: Too inconvenient for regular use. Battery life too short to depend on. Uncomfortable and too tight on face. Fatal lack of durability. Worthless, useless junk.

Perfect for Traveling
I took the iVue glasses to Cuba for a two week trip and filmed under all sorts of circumstances...in vehicles speeding down the highway, on dusty trails and in restaurants. These glasses is performed reliably and admirably. In fact, so far, I have been amazed at the video and 'glass' quality. Image stabilization, clarity and dynamic range exceeded all my expectations. I filmed, stored and uploaded over 200 clips to Google Drive and all videos instantly play well to share with friends without any hassle. And the videos only occupied 1/2 of a 32GM storage card.I experienced only two small problems. The first problem is the camera films slightly above the line of sight so you have to look down a bit to get a perfect frame. But even without looking down, I still got really good - but not perfect - images. And the audible alerts, which sound when the device is turned on and off are sensible to let the user know the device is operating properly and to signal others that you're filming. On the other hand if you're filming from a car they'll drive other passengers nuts so maybe there could be an option to reduce audible level. My vendor, Teton Web Stores, has also been of high quality.

it is a great way to get into action sports/POV videography
For the price, it is a great way to get into action sports/POV videography. Having the camera mounted dead on center at the bridge of the nose gives a much truer perspective of what you're looking at versus a forehead/chin/cheek mounted GoPro-type.My application is that I'm filming short track auto races from the flag stand. Most of the video is at dusk or after sunset.Complaints1. There is a protective lens above the lens which produces some weird lens flares from the light towers2. The default settings are potato quality. You do have to have just a little bit of computer prowess to find the text file and then not be afraid to edit the file to dial in your settings. If you don't adjust your settings even a little bit, you'll be condemned to 1970's broadcast TV style quality.3. The record/stop record button is on the side of the temple. I tried to record from a go kart under a race helmet, and I think the padding of the helmet kept turning the glasses on and off. I would prefer the button to be on the underside of the template where incidental contact like that would be less likely.4. The camera itself is a little too proud, standing up a little high off the rest of the glasses. I believe this issue was addressed in a more recent iteration of the design.5. The eye glass lenses they provide (lightly tinted and clear) feel very cheap. In an action sport setting, I'm afraid that the lenses will not protect the eyes and face the way other glasses would. On the plus side, the glasses are simple to use, and easy to transfer files back and forth between the glasses and your computer. I gave them to the flagger at my track, showed him once, and he had no problems using them. The audible on/off indicator is a huge benefit for that purpose. The fit is very snug without being uncomfortable. No worries of them shaking or rattling off your head (though if I'm using them on a mountain biking video, I may consider a granny cord for ease of mind). The frames do not interfere with your regular field of view. Same with ball caps. You can wear a baseball cap comfortably with these without interfering with the camera FOV or having to wear your hat unnaturally. Some of those issues (default quality, button placement) can be resolved without increasing the cost of the product. However, some of those issues I believe are just a factor of an entry level POV camera. If you're looking to spend a few dollars to see if you like taking video of your daily bike ride, well worth the investment. If you're planning on doing some hardcore YouTube action sports videos....maybe spend a few more dollars for a higher quality product.

... couple of times but the picture on these are better than those from my 500
I have only used these a couple of times but the picture on these are better than those from my 500.00 camera. They are not at all cheaply made that I think I read in a review. They are a little snug on my head so if you have a big head you may want to consider something else. But for the average head the snugness will at least keep them on your head so you can keep the hands free.I watched the video on the Amazon site and figured being an advertisement of course it's going to look real good so I was really surprised to find that mine looks just as good.Again they are snug but not painful. And for me I don't plan on wearing them on an everyday basis so no biggie. Keep in mind they're used like a camcorder. So you really only wear them for according.I'm not to sure about the sound on them sense I only had my dog with me when I used them and he's not talking. If I can figure out how to upload a video on this I will update it to provide sound and the great video quality. I am going to a party on the 11th so I'll have voice quality and a better idea as to how to use them.I decided I better not use a video from the party because I don't want to be posting videos of people online who may not wish to have their faces or voices on here.Oh and as for the seller. I am truly impressed. I had sent an email asking if they could be sure it got here by the 11th of April and they sent it out right away and I got it soon enough to test it out. Thanks Teton webstores

once you figure out how you need to wear them to get angle you like. They don't move
I have a larger melon... XL flex fit caps fit tight. These glasses fit tight, but are not uncomfortable. The plus to that though is, once you figure out how you need to wear them to get angle you like. They don't move. The video is nice and clear. The one button on/off takes a second to register, so no worry about accidently turning it on/off. The audio in the videos, for what I need it for is fine. Anyone talking on the side oppisite of the mic though is muffled. (person in the vid I'll link after is about 2-3 feet behind me so I wasn't expecting to pick them up). They lenses these come with are top notch, with great color seperation and clarity (usally wear oakly's for outdoor matches)Overall a great product for what I am using them for.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pTnQ8O7Bhd4

Shame on me for buying these again!
This is/was my 2nd pair. The 1st pair lasted about 9 months of frequent use until they would not turn off. I thought it might have been a lemon. But... the 2nd pair lasted for about 4 months of frequent use and now they will not shut off. I want part of my $300 back!! I would not recommend these to anyone who cares about capturing moments. I lost some very cool memories!! Also... The audio and video quality is smoked by some of the knock off gopros that only cost $50. Velcro one of them to your hat and keep your hands free memories in better hands. They also need to work on giving the owner the option to change the view angle of the lens by way of a tiny screw system. You will always have to look down much further than you think to capture what you see correctly. These might be worth about $45 if they changed the description to indicate that they are short lifespan disposable glasses. If they did this, my rating would change to a 3.I might try the pivot heads next?!?

Don't risk it, your better just to invest in a GoPro
Don't waste your money on this, just invest in a GoPro it's a safer bet.

fiables
Elles fonctionnent parfaitement depuis.
