Amazing.. It did hold a rifle barrel without damage. I was able to torque 45 inch-ft without hesitation in a 4 inch vise. The magnets are located in the right location, so it will stay in place. The moldings holding the padding are the reasonable size. The pads with multiple V notches properly hold multiple sizes or cylindrical materials. The flat pads works very good for non marring projects. Both they grip, won't slip. Whoever invented them is a weekend warrior, or definitely uses the vise for multi use. It might cost a few bucks more than normal soft jaws, but they are very nicely made.

I spend a fair amount of time at my workbench on various projects. I bought these soft jaws for a vise I have been using since 1975. Previously, I have improvised by taping thin pieces of wood to the jaws to protect delicate materials I was holding in the vise so many times I cannot begin to estimate. These โSoft Jawsโ work perfectly, the magnets are strong, and they can be used on their flat sides or the opposite sides with grooves for holding rounded items. They are well worth the price. I bought sets for both my sons afer receiving these.

Nice product. Feels/looks well made, the magnets are strong. Having the two sets of jaws with different profiles provides a lot of different options for gripping while protecting all sorts of objects and shapes. If you are looking for jaws for a 4-4.5" bench vise...get these.
