Ideal For My Use
Perfect for my use as a power failure backup generator. Not only runs appliances but recharges the solar generator I use indoors and does it in an hour, which normally takes forever with solar panels. Great run time on a gallon of gas. For a generator, it is quiet, especially in ECO mode. I can lift and carry it and it fits a small cart just made for it, making it easy to move around with ease. Starts easily enough, has a run to empty setting, carbon monoxide detector and a front panel that shows everything going on. Easy to start, run, maintain and store. Another quality product from Honda.

Great generator, would recommend
Honda tends to be the gold standard for small generators. Light weight, enough power to run my travel trailer AC and very very quiet. Though it may be a little more expensive than some, the features, size, weight, and quietness are worth the price. One other thing is the height is low enough to easily carry in my truck with a bed cap. I have since converted this to a tri-fuel setup and it runs great on propane. Would recommend and would buy again. The Companion is the right configuration to buy as a first generator for a travel trailer. Easy to get a locking adapter to a 30A trailer connection. If you later get a second generator, this one already has the proper connector for a TT.

Great Little Power House - Small but mighty.
We lost power for 4 days last winter (2024/25) with 16-20F at night. I got up every 4 hours to refill the tank but it ran every evening for 3 nights with no issues and kept our first floor at 44F with space heaters. It is solid and heft so no chance of tipping. It was fairly quiet even with the door slightly ajar for the extension cables coming into the house. Need a better solution to eliminate air gap - probably use pool noodles halved on sliding deck door next time. If you don't or can't have a whole house generator, this little power source will get you through an outage. I have a 35 year old Honda snow blower that still runs like a champ so this generator should last the rest of my life LOL.

Great little generator with fast delivery from Jacks Small Engines
I had purchased the 2200i Companion model locally but stores in my area didn't have the 2200i standard model. Having both would allow me to use parallel cables (purchased separately) to power the AC on my RV. I was hesitant to order online due to possible damage during shipping but I went ahead with the order from Amazon sold by Jacks Small Engines. The generator arrived two days after ordering in perfect condition - brand new in the factory box. Thanks to Jacks Small Engines for the order and delivery updates, the fast service, and for a great product. I unboxed it, added oil and fuel, and started it up with no problems. Note that the first start-up (with no fuel in the lines) takes a few extra pulls but after that, it starts on the first or second pull. These little Honda generators are so quiet, easy to move around and provide all the power I need for my RV and also for home backup power. Previous Honda engines that I have owned have been extremely reliable, and with proper maintenance, I expect that this generator will provide years of service.

The gold standard
This is definitively the gold standard among so called suitcase inverter generators. These things are as quiet in person as the specs indicate, especially at partial loads (even 1,200 watt+) using Eco throttle. Beautifully clean and consistent power. Fuel efficient. To hell and back reliability, durability, and longevity. Small, lightweight, highly portable...probably any able bodied adult can put one wherever they want. If you are considering buying this model of generator you probably already know all of the awesome positives. It's still not completely perfect. There is no fuel gauge and it does not come with a precise hour meter (it does have a function, upon startup, where the green indicator light blinks 0-5 times indicating 0-100, over 100, over 200, over 300, over 400, or over 500 hours). Mine of course runs great and handled everything (within rating) I threw at it beautifully, including running my (natural gas) furnace and lighting and fridge circuits through my transfer switch (get an L5-30 to L14-30 or 5-15 to L14-30, hots bridged, adapter for your 2200i or 2200i companion and you can power 120v circuits on a transfer switch made for larger gens, just don't try to run too much at once of course) Recommended other items: -A screw in oil change tube. Yes the EU2200i has a larger oil fill and drain than the EU2000i, but it's still far from ideal. Easy fix. Smaller, but mighty generator.
I just lived through a destructive once in a century Ice Storm. Our entire subdivision was without electricity for 8 straight days. The Honda EU2200i worked like a champ. This workhorse generator powered my fridge, deep freezer, min fridge, a few LED lamps, computer desks, a few LED terrariums, charged phones and ran a space heater non stop (except to refuel) for that entire 8 day period of time. I was able to swap out for the air fryer and microwave when needed. I would get an average of 4-5 hours on a full tank when I was running high energy items like the space heater. Unhook those big energy items and the generator would run an average of 9-10 hours. I would fill it up before bedtime and it was still running when we woke up in the morning. I believe I went through 20 gallons of gas over those 8 days. So glad I bought this generator and had it on hand.
