Another must read for fans! YenPress delivers us the start of the second story arc by re-releasing this gem! This first volume of the Nerissa's Revenge story arc contains the original W.I.T.C.H. comic issue #13-16. Originally when this comic series was first released for English audiences here in North America, Disney Hyperion stopped here right after issue #16. For years, fans were left in the dark, never knowing what would happened. Bless it was when Yen Press decided to pick up the series and did what Disney Hyperion failed to do: releasing all the volumes of the 2nd story arc. Following the end of the Twelve Portal story arc, our heroines succeeded in placing Elyon on the throne and defeating Phobos and Cedric, but Cornelia paid the price when her true love, the rebel leader Caleb, was turned into a flower. Her lost caused a rift between the Guardians, and so their powers became weaker. To make things worse, an old enemy is awakening and she is out for revenge: Nerissa, the previous Keeper of the Heart! The drawings are as beautiful as I remembered and the story is as exciting.

Hooray! WITCH is back. After so many years after Disney abandoned publishing the comics in the USA we finally get to read the rest of the series. JY does a really nice job on the printings and binding of these books and I heartily recommend them over the original print run. Now as to the story itself, it’s a nice solid story about a group of friends who gain magical powers and must balance saving the worlds from evil forces. It’s a western magical girl story which far surpasses its animated counterpart. The style is a hybrid between Disney and anime and is pleasingly laid out. I would recommend.

All the girls are beautiful in their own unique way. The story is engaging, and the growing bonds between all 5 girls are nice to follow.

I'm very familiar with this story because this is when I started collecting w.i.t.c h. in my home country. This part is about the girls falling out with each other and truly showing more character developments for the girls. Cornelia Is in a depressive state since her lover Caleb got turned into a flower. This volume covers how she and the girls try to deal with this hard an emotional blow for Cornelia. Other characters shine too such as Luba and we get introduced to a new villain Nerrissa an old guardian before the w.i.t.c.h. girls. The artist are amazing as always, everyone has their unique expressions and flow to the illustration. The book quality is good as always. (My review continues into Volume 2 )

Me encantó que las páginas sean más resistentes que en los cómics que compraba anteriormente, la imagen es de buena calidad y llego antes de lo esperado.

Cuando era pequeña, siempre leía estos cómics, me encantaban y esperaba con ansia la salida del siguiente para poder comentarlo con mis amigas, la verdad es que tengo una relación muy íntima con esta historia. No se muy bien a que vino, pero después de la cuarentena decidí rescatar todos mis antiguos comics de las witch y releerlos, el único prolema es que cuando era pequeña, crecí y a partir de cierto número, parece que me dejaron de interesar y dejé de comprarlos. Así que me puse a buscar para poder leer los números que me faltaban en algún sitio y me topé con esta reedición. Me falta comprar solo la saga de los Raglorang para completar mi colección. En cuanto al cómic en si, para mi es un enorme acierto la tapa blanda, es más fácil a la hora de leer y hace tener un tamaño más reducido para guardarlo, muy contenta. Tenía miedo de que en algunas partes el cómic estuviera censurado (vi que en otras reediciones censuraban las transformaciones, aunque no se ve nada de nada en los cómics originales, tengamos en cuenta que es una historia para niñas) y no es así, cosa que me gusta mucho, es volver a leer exactamente la misma historia en un tamaño más reducido. En cada librito de estos, vienen aproximadamente 3 historias de las que habría en los cómics normales, y al principio de cada una, las portadas que tuvieron cuando los sacaron. También, al final, vienen unas páginas extra, en las que están las típicas fichas de presentación de personajes, más adelante "la habitación de..." " cómo dibujar a...", es decir, muy completo. Por último, están en inglés, si lo quieres comprar a una niña puede que sea arriesgado depende de la edad que tenga, aunque para aprender inglés leer en esta lengua es bueno. Si lo vas a comprar para alguien y te da miedo que no lo entienda tranqui, yo tengo 26 años y no entiendo todo, pero muchas veces, el contexto de la historia y la propia viñeta ayudan mucho a la comprensión de la trama aunque no se conozcan todas las palabras exactas. En resumen, yo estoy muy contenta con esta compra, me ha transportado a la niñez y me ha hecho revivir una historia que tenía medio olvidada pero que siempre me gustó.
