This is a big step up for me. These are very nice. For years I had cheap Revere ware set of knives from Walmart. About a year and a half ago I started actually cooking and preparing food, getting away from processed foods and I got a set of Henckel's knives. They were a huge step up. They were nice. At the time I was not sure how much I would like the change in lifestyle or if I would keep it up. I was ready this week to make another up grade. I am very happy with the feel and quality. I have enjoyed eating healthier and feel much better. From what I can gather by looking at the knife block and comparing to online pics, the 7 piece and 12 piece sets use the same wooden block. I got the 7 piece, so I can add to it as needed. I Iike my earlier purchase of All-Clad scissors better than the ones in this set.

These are solidly built. I was surprised at the balance of the knife in my hand. These surpassed my expectations of a knife set.

I have owned All Clad cookware and bakeware for decades. I never realized they made knives as well. I have a set of ceramic knives, but I discovered that they are brittle and can shatter when twisting or forcing through hard ingredients. And they are super pricey to replace. So I wanted a good set made of metal for those tougher jobs. At first, I was worried when I pulled the knives out of the packaging as the handles felt lightweight and insubstantial, with most of the weight centered over the blades. But as I started cutting with them, they just felt right. I guess whoever designed and tested these knew what they were doing. The blades themselves are razor sharp and cut smoothly and easily. It has a honer to keep the edges nice and sharp and there's even a dedicated space for it in the block. The kitchen shears are a plus as I did not have one yet and these are super handy to deal with tough joints that need breaking and cutting. And there's a slot for this in the block as well. It is odd that the block isn't designed specifically for the number of items in the set. They use the same block for the 12 piece as the 7 piece set. I'd have preferred a smaller, dedicated block for the 7 piece so it takes less space on the countertop. And to avoid the inevitable question of "hey, aren't you missing some knives?" when folks see the empty slots. Overall, this is a very nice and well rounded set of knives, honer, and shears with a good wood block to store them all. It's definitely much more expensive but these will last forever and they work very well. I just need to improve my cooking skills to match the quality of these tools.

There are 4 knives included in this 7-piece set—a 3.5 inch paring knife, 5 inch serrated utility knife, 7 inch Santoku and 8 inch chef knife and the represent the knives most frequently used. The remaining 3 pieces are a honing steel for sharpening the knives, pull-apart kitchen shears and the Acacia wood knife block. A group is good starting point and the knife block also has 4 empty slots which could be used for things like steak knives. They feel good in the hand and cut, slice and chop beautifully. The set has a handsome appearance but more importantly it provides excellent function. All-Clad designed the knives in the USA and they are made in China using German fully-forged stainless steel. The blades are precision cut, quite sharp and are stated to be cryo treated to maintain sharpness longer and increase hardness to prevent chipping. The handles are comfortable to grip and as with quality knives there is a full tang (blade runs the entire length of the handle). The blade is secured to the handle with 3 rivets. It is recommended they not be washed in the dishwasher because it may dull the blade. The set covers the most commonly used pieces like a carving set, specialty knives, etc. may be added if the need arises. Very nice.

The image is a full block, but the description is 7 pieces. 7 pieces is accurate. You get one steak knife and 2 knives from the upper block are not included. For the price, this is ridiculous. I know All-Clad is a good, quality brand but for the price, I expected a full block.

The block these come in is beautiful. The knives are well-balanced and I love what you get here. It's a starter set but enough for most people to get by with. No wobble on the scissors which I LOOOOVE, I am picky about my kitchen scissors and these pass the test. The paring knife is a perfect companion to the serrated utility knife. This knife isn't going to be big enough to cut my big artisan bread loaves but it's perfect for other tasks. I had a serrated knife bigger than this and while I loved the flexibility the blade gave me it was too big. This is the perfect size. Small, compact set that's going to fit into even tiny kitchens. I love this brand and these knives did not disappoint. I will update if I have any issues.

This is a nice knife set. The knives could be a little heavier but they do the job and are sharp. They hold well. The block is nice looking too!
