Xero Shoes Men's HFS II Barefoot Running Shoes

As a long time user of the original hfs, I will say these are a great shoe that fills slightly different use cases compared to the other. I have been using the original as a gym/run shoe for several years now and it has held up surprisingly well, so I had high expectations with this model. The most noticeable differences to me are the upper feels just a hair thicker, and the ankle cushioning is also a bit thicker as well. The sole of the shoe is also a a hair thicker and more supportive, and has made running on pavement much more enjoyable for me. The tread is also different, and goes for more of a lugged appearance vs the tire like design of the originals. I have no evidence on how this might impact durability, but I imagine it may trade a little bit of treadmill life for increased grip, which I am fine with. Overall, I am really enjoying these shoes, it keeps a lot of what made me like the originals, while adding a lot of nice touches to give it it's own identity.

This is the second pair I have purchased in 4yrs. Only because the original blue HFS ll were constantly unavailable. I had my eye on these red one so I jumped.at the discounted price. They have been the most comfortable and nonexistent shows i have ever worn. If you bare not familiar with barefoot shoes, understand they will give you foot fatigue in the beginning because your feet are adapting to a more natural gate of walking with less height in the sole. Once your feet remember their purpose you will come to love wearing them. When I can afford to i will get at least 4 more in this style as well as the boots. Great product for me and my feet.

These shoes not only fit your feet in an organic way, they last as advertised. I’ve had these shoes going on two years, have put almost 2000 pavement covered miles on them and the soles are still in good shape. As could be expected, the uppers are fairly warn and that’s okay. I would have eaten through four pair of any other running shoe and am looking forward to replacing these with the same shoe in their new brown leather.

size is small. all my shoes are a 10 and they fit really well. my toes jammed up against the from of the shoe. I'm only writing this review so you know they run a bit small. I returned mine so i don't have a long term review. Hope this helps.

I typically wear a 9.5 EE, I bought the HFS IIs in size 10. The length is good but they’re still a bit tight width wise for a brand that advertises a “wide toe box”. Still a great pair of shoes though just keep the sizing in mind.

Super lightweight, durable, lets your toes splay out, forces you to toe-strike when running, and doesn’t make your feet sweaty and smelly like most shoes.

I like the Xero SpeedForce II shoe more but this is a good shoe for someone new to barefoot. This shoe is a little to snug aswell but you just need to break it in.

I like barefoot shoes and I thought the Xeros looked a bit nicer than the other stuff out there. Originally ordered size 8.5, which is my size in Whitins and recommended by Amazon. The Xeros were too small so I went up to size 9. Fit seemed fine at first. Shoes are light and easy to wear out the box. After a few weeks I noticed bruising under my left big toe. Thought maybe I stubbed it or something so I kept wearing the shoes. Then later the same bruise appeared on my right toe. Never seen anything like that. The weird thing is it doesn't hurt. Might have something to do with how the toe box rubs against the top of my toes. Never had this problem after 3 pairs of Whitins. Just bought a 4th.

Very comfortable for every day wear.
