An A-Z of Baby Names: 2

Was looking for a book of names to browse through. Very pleased with this. Lots of names along with their meaning. Perfect to give a rough idea in early pregnant.

Useful tool in the pre baby planning. In the end, not needed and in hindsight, was a waste of money as we picked out a name that was on our list before purchasing this book.

I did quite a bit of research when buying a baby names book (Amazon's look inside feature was a godsend!), and ended up with this one. I've nothing to compare it to but I'm pleased with this book. It's an A to Z so the names are mixed by male and female but this works for us as we don't know whether we're having a boy or a girl. There aren't a great deal of totally bizarre names, and there's quite a good selection of normal names, as well as more unusual names to consider. At the back there's also a section on popular names throughout time, and popular names in different countries. I liked how for many names it gives examples of notable people with the name - though perhaps naming Aaron Livesey from Emmerdale was a bit random! My only criticism would be there isn't a great deal about the origin of many names, though the historical information is great. Overall we're happy with this book.

Brought this as could not decide what we wanted to call our son. We did not want something everyone has but also not something so out there. Has loads of options. Clearly tells you if it's more annoy or girl name or even both and give you the meaning.

Easy to use name book, but selection of names are questionable and dated.

Plenty of choices of names to chose from better than a previous book I bought. Has all different types of names from old to modern

The names in this book are not your normal run of the mill traditional names, which I liked. However, there aren't that many names in this book and the names it does list per letter are quite similar to each other so there's not much variety. I didn't find this useful to spark my naming ideas, but it might be useful to someone looking for a more traditional hidden gem.

Très bon livre, excellent pour découvrir les prénoms venus d'ailleurs, donne une bonne inspiration. Je vous conseille vivement ce livre, ça change des livres classiques de prénoms français.
