Is this ok from common goldfish about 2 inches+?

A 2 inch+ goldfish should have a mouth big enough to handle these Tetra floating pellets. We like it for its floating feature, the water seems to stay cleaner longer.

how big are the pellets? "Bite sized" means 3/4." Wardley pond pellets are 5 mm diameter which are too big for gold fish under 6" long. I need 1mm.

These are 2-3 mm in size, Brian. Our smallest are Tetra Goldfish Color Granules, which average 1.5 mm. Pond diets tend to be much larger than aquarium diets, since most young pond fish are grown up in tanks first.

which is better, these or the flakes?

In my opinion, these are better than the flakes because they float and do not break apart as quickly as the flakes well. This means that the water stays clearer.

Aren't goldfish bottom feeders? Why is there goldfish top feeder pellets?

I find that some of my goldfish (especially the smaller ones) prefer eating from the top of the tank rather than grazing at the bottom. These are called pellets but are very small and easy for them to eat.
