I notes that plumber place little too much on whole house water filter and filter has little amounts . Is this toxic if small amout runs inside filter

IS THE LUBRICANT A SOLID GREASE?

Not sure what you mean by "solid". Its consistency is that of tooth paste. I use it like a glue to hold large canister gaskets in place when replacing filters in potable water systems. Hope this helps some.

Will it break down plastic?
