This belt is good quality, including the strap and buckle. The main criticism I have is that the webpage should indicate whether the belt is a "tail-in" or "tail-out" belt. I wanted a "tail-in" belt, i.e., the tapered end slides under the visible side of the belt. The product image on the page makes it impossible to tell. The product description should make the slide belt type clear.

This is a great belt that I use everyday. I love the slide belt it comes on and off conveniently and the gun metal finish looks stylish. Everyone is surprised how the belt operates. I have used it everyday for the last year and the belt has kept up with me with minor wear and tear. The belt can be adjusted to your own liking by cutting off the excess as instructed. It will become a perfect fit just the way you want it and it will be a nice piece to your collection of accessories. I especially like the little emblem logo because it adds a bit of flare to the belt instead of having it be just a plain boring buckle. It is a must have belt that will match any set of your black dress shoes. The belt buckle has never been scratched and is quite durable. Considering that I have used this belt nearly every day gives me satisfaction that it doesn't damage or fall apart easily. The latch that holds the belt together is very secure. I have never had the buckle break on me or accidentally loosen. Once it is on and tightened it stays that way, it doesn't loosen if you move around or if you hit the buckle on anything it will only loosen when you lift the latch yourself to manually loosen it. This belt has never failed me in my everyday usage and I highly recommend anyone to buy this belt. There are also options in other colors and buckles but i believe this one is the most classy and to my liking. This is overall a great belt that can be used everyday it is tough, durable, and reliable. If you want a solid belt that you can use all the time then this is it!

I started looking around for a belt like this after hearing about ratcheting belts from a friend. The release mechanism on those was a lever at the top side of the buckle that looked like it would be poking me in the stomach when ever I sat down. I was not really a fan of the style of the buckles either. After several days of searching I finally decided on the Slide belt. The styling of the buckle is much cleaner with no branding than any other offering I found. Also the release is built into the face of the buckle. The outer rim of the buckle lifts and releases the belt. Another thing I really like about this belt is the simplicity of the buckle mechanism. There is only one moving part and a spring. Another reviewer mentioned that the buckle connection to the belt would not close flush. Once you attach the belt to the buckle and have pressed the flap down as far as it will go, pull on the belt as if trying to pull it out of the buckle. This will finish setting the connection and the flap will be flush then. I love the perfect fit that the 1/4 in steps gives, and that it never randomly comes loose like some other belts I have had. I only have two negative. First is the quality of the leather. It looks great and feels great, but after about 1 month small stringy bits started to show up on the top and bottom edges. Not sure what it is, but when I pull on them a strip of black comes off the belt. The finish on the belt where it came from is duller than the rest and the texture seems to be gone as well. Thus far this seems to be an aesthetic issue only. Secondly, the buckle can still poke me in the stomach at times when I am sitting. Though when wearing an undershirt it is not an issue. In the belts defense, I do have a bit of a large gut. Edit 06-16-15: after more than a year the belt leather is begining to fail. The buckle has ripped out the end of the leather a few times and there is a large crack developing in the middle of the belt. It is close to causing the entire leather to to break in two. They have upgraded to a new leather type (three options actually) so this should not be an issue any longer. They also reached out an offered to replace my leather about a year ago (I missed the offer and that is why I still have the original). The buckles finish has started to wear off in a few places. I attribute that to skin oils and friction. It is only on the upper edge where the buckle rests against my stomach. Use of an undershirt would likely prevent this. All in all it is a great belt and I would still recommend it, especially with the new leather options. I am currently looking to replace the leather with one of the newer offerings.

OK .. THIS IS A FANTASTIC BELT. I read the reviews and they were very glowing, but the last expensive belt I bought was a Coach Leather belt, and that lasted just slightly longer than the cheapies (Always failing in the area of the holes for the buckle). If you're like me, you will probably always use the same one or two holes. That ALWAYS WORE THE BELT WHERE THE HOLES WERE USED OVER AND OVER. This belt uses a non-hole system, where the buckle has a tab that locks into a series of "notches" sewn into the belt. After cutting it for the length I needed (cutting and locking the cut end into the buckle was simple and easy) the belt worked like a charm. My concerns are how these notches will hold up. One other note: I wear my belts tight, and I found that the buckle releases very easily (You only need to lift the end of the buckle cover/locking plate slightly) and and that release the tab holding the notches. I admit the belt will,not "fly off", but the tension does get released. I guess some care needs to be used when squeezing past anything (you don't want to snag that buckle) and keeping your fingers off the buckle itself. I am hoping for a long and useful; life for this belt. The next time a lightning deal for this comes along again, I think I'll get a brown one. 08/05/14 UPDATE: I've been using this belt and I will address my concerns I mentioned in my original review; 1. Snagging the buckle release on something - hasn't happened, the buckle is VERY LOW profile. 2. Accidentally releasing the buckle - hasn't happened due to its low profile and turns out to actually being a good thing. We love buffet restaurants, and since I wear my belts tight, I found you can VERY discreetly release some of the tension on the belt when you stuff yourself. Unlike regular buckle belts where you must first remove the belt end from the buckle so you can pull the retaining bar out of the hole, and then you must realign the belt so you can put that bar back into the belt hole. This belt made that SO EASY, QUICK and DISCREET. I really love this belt, and just ordered a brown one via another lightning deal.

I'll make it quick. If you want a nice professional belt, then buy this one. I've had a lot of belts and I absolutely love this one. Pros * I can make micro adjustments on the cinching of my belt. If I just ate and feel full, I release the buckle and cinch it back to a more comfortable size. No more holes about an inch apart, that a lot of times end up feeling too tight or too lose. * They send you a strap of leather with waist sizes marked on the back for you to cut it down. Start bigger lock it in place, cinch it and see if it feels right. If not cut it down and repeat. Not sure why I find that awesome, but I do. I had more control over the length of my belt. * No more weak points where the holes in your belt have been cut. I always lose a belt to wear and tear on the belt hole I use, well that no longer happens. The belt is solid so the strap lasts longer. Plus if it ever does wear out, or if you manage to tear it somehow, you do not need a new buckle, just a new strap to replace it. The buckle is reusable. Con - I do not feel right if I do not try to find a con * So my con, which is more of a nitpick, is that every now and then I catch the buckle on a surface. It lifts up enough that it release the belt a few clicks. Not generally a big deal as it takes 2 seconds to grab the end of the belt and pull. Cinches right back quickly enough. So if I were to have one gripe it would be to make that release mechanism a little more stiff.

After my previous belt practically exploded into a million pieces after sitting down in a work meeting (embarrassing), I was in the market for a new belt. I ALWAYS have problems trying to find a belt that A) looks nice, and B) exists in my size and has properly-spaced holes so it is not either too tight or too loose. Sounds simple enough (I have a size 33 waist so you'd think so), but I often have to travel to different stores to find the perfect match. I decided to check Amazon and I came across these SlideBelts. After reading the good reviews, I opted to go for broke and buy a couple (Mocha Brown and Black). I was happy with the belt and buckle combination options. Both looked great online. My belts came in, and they looked better than the pictures. VERY nice/hefty belt buckle that looks great. The instructions were simple and the leather was easy to cut with the clear markings on the back of the leather....took 5 minutes (tops) for both belts. I tried them on, and WOW. These are great. I'm prone to a fluctuating waist size (after big meals, after a day of drinking IPAs all day, after running, etc.). These things adjust perfectly to the size I need at the current moment. No more issues with the belt holes being too tight or too loose! The mechanism works almost like an airplane seat belt; you insert the fitting into the buckle, and pull on the loose end to tighten. To unfasten your belt, simply lift up on the metal buckle. We'll see how long these last. If the initial quality is any indication, I have a feeling it will be a long time. I'm very happy with this purchase and will continue to purchase in the future should I need any more color combinations. UPDATE: While my initial happiness on these belts was warranted, I am overdue to update this review. In short, they don't last long. If you purchase one of these belts, expect to keep repurchasing them (I wonder how many 5 start reviews, like my initial review, would still be a 5 star review after a few months of use. Like others, I was at work one day and sat down in my chair in a conference room, and the belt just SNAPPED and pieces went flying. I don't even have a big gut - I'm a skinny guy, so no it wasn't a sudden increase in my weight! Even more the belt snapped, the metal buckle looked worn and chipped, and the material itself was cracked and unsightly. And even then, the buckle kept coming unattached from the plastic (not leather) belt. I love the idea of a ratchet style belt, but I'm on the hunt for a different brand that's hopefully built better

I was super skeptical about the whole no holes belt concept but honestly it has grown on me fast. The fit is way more comfortable than a regular belt and you can dial it in exactly where you want without fumbling around with a buckle. The leather started showing some minor wear after a while but the buckle mechanism still works perfectly. Worth picking up if you want something that actually fits right and looks clean.

Value for money. Quality is really good.

Love using this belt. Now I don't have to choose between having the belt just a bit tight or loose. Ratchets to just the right position and opens very easily. The inside of the belt started to crack after only a few wears but there can always be a defect. Emailed the company about support, as their website said support was only within the US. Had no problem and they quickly sent me a replacement leather strap. It is not quite the same colour but will do fine.

This is a very nice, ratcheting full grain leather belt that can be essentially sized to whatever you need. I've always liked these ratcheting belts as they don't require that you buy the right size, and because they don't have an issue with needing to have a hole punched between two other ones to fit comfortably. That material on this belt is fantastic, much better than the $20-$25 ones that are a leather laminate. The buckle is also very classy. It has an interesting mechanical design, where pulling on the outside part of it swings releases the ratchet mechanism.
