Wellness Complete Health Minced Adult Canned Wet Cat Food, Natural, Protein Rich, Grain Free, Tuna Dinner Recipe, 3 oz, Pack of 24 Cans

We switched to Wellness minced canned a decade ago and our cats are all perky, shiny eyed, glossy with thick warm fur, and healthy. One problem with this brand is that there isn't always the same amount of moisture in each can. Cats really don't drink much in nature and get most of their water from the food they kill, so even though we always have bowls of water for them, when we get cans of food without enough water we always mix in extra so that the food has a gravy which they love and forces them to drink enough water which is extremely important for their health. Aside from that I've never seen happier healthier cats, and I've had 5 of them, all from the humane society, and all began only in so-so shape. Our latest kit, the tux in the photo, was about six months old and had already had 7 kittens herself and had been through a hysterectomy right before we took her home. She was starving, scrawny and lost all her fur on her ears when we brought her home. After two weeks of this food the shaved part of her coat has grown back the first layer, her fur is glossy, she has fur beginning to grow on her ears, her eyes are bright and sparkly, and she has a lot of zest. I know a lot of cat foods have come out over the years but this one is made in the USA and seems to be doing a great job and as long as my cats like it and are as healthy as can be they will be getting it. And, best of all, they love it. Update March 26 2026 update. I go back off and on to check on products to see if anything's changed and it appears it has with this cat food. At first I noticed that my subscription orders were being cancelled and I was being sent my backup, which is pate. Fortunately my two cats seem to really love pate and it appears to be of excellent quality. Then I read the comments about the minced food and saw a total horror story of bent, broken cans filled with something I wouldn't feed anything-not even the microbes in the soil. My conclusion is that the company has had an internal saboteur and that after all the comments they were doing an assessment to see who or what was happening to the food and therefore they halted all shipments, which is good- no-one wants food unfit for cats. That would explain why my shipments for the last several months have been halted. I hope I am right and that this company figures out what is going on and fixes it. They need to send out a message to all those they sent uneatable products to, give them free replacements, and explain what the problem was and how they have solved the problem. I have never gotten a bad can but many people have. A company, if it wants to stay in business, needs to come clean with the story so that people will have faith in what they get from them in future. If I get a single can as bad as some of the pictures I've just seen and the co. stays mum I will find another brand even though my cats love this one and are totally healthy. I am a faithful customer so long as they products remain constantly good and if the co makes a bad product for some reason they own up and fix it and apologize. For the present the pate seems to be completely normal if your cat will eat it. I hope that this cat food can become what it was for many a year, really good food.

My cat loves poultry and fish combined; she used to be a chicken-and-herring girl. So turkey-and-salmon is a new variety for her on the same fish-bird theme. She weighs 8 lbs and comfortably puts away two 3-ounce cans between am and pm. It takes her about 5 trips to eat it all down per meal. I just open the can, turn it upside down, and slide the food, still can shaped, into her bowl. Sometimes a little gravy stays in the can; if so i just teaspoon it out. If i’m using a bowl with rims, i leave it as is inside the bowl. If i’m using a flatter, more whisker-friendly bowl, i mash it down with a fork to keep the food in place and keep it from spilling over. Consistent quality + great customer service at Wellness if you have any concerns or questions.

My cats like this food, but my cats are not terribly picky. What I like about this food is that while it is almost impossible to avoid additives and unnecessary ingredients in any pet food, Wellness does not have nearly as much as most other brands, and they don't use wheat gluten, or rice, etc as filler. The majority of this product is made up of what any food for cats is supposed to be made of: animal protein. ***Just a note for people commenting on this with things like "my cat didn't like the texture" or "this didn't have enough gravy/had too much gravy" or whatever, a cat not liking a certain food is not indicative of that food's quality. I've bought some of the most ridiculously expensive, high end, pure animal protein canned food out there and my cat wouldn't touch it. I find that feeding your cats a wide variety of foods (brands, and kinds of protein) goes a long way towards making them less finicky and more likely to eat what you put in front of them. I think it's unfair to give a low rating to a product just because one member of a notoriously picky species wouldn't eat it.

The cats eat this and it is something different to keep them engaged. I can get it delivered.

I have two cats who have eaten nothing but Wellness wet food for over 10 years now. They were fed Wellness kitten food from 6 weeks old and now refuse to eat anything else but their respective favorite flavors of Wellness. I used to love giving them Wellness as it actually smelled like the protein source written on the can. (The chicken herring really smelled like chicken with herring added, the beef smellled & looked like beef, etc.) The food smelled appetizing, like something I would eat. Through the years we had to change flavors and Wellness products a couple of times when Wellness changed their recipes, but I was always able to substitute a slightly different flavor or product (such as the Healthy Indulgence pouches) and for the most part it was still better than any other cat food on the premium market...that is, until the latest Minced Salmon order from Amazon. I had noticed the change in labeling but hoped the change was purely aesthetic. When I opened the can this time, however, not only did it NOT smell like salmon, it didn't smell edible! It smelled rotten, with an odd plastic odor underneath! The consistency was different too. The bits of food were an odd grey color and ground up much smaller than usual. I thought it might just be the one can and so I opened another - same nasty smell, color and texture! I opened several cans and to my disgust, all were the same. At this point I thought that perhaps the package from Amazon had been left outside in the sun for too long so I called my husband and had him pick up a few cans from Petco on his way home. He called me from the store to tell me the labeling on the minced salmon cat food had changed; did I still want it? I did. Unfortunately, the cans he had brought home contained the same stinky grey substance. So this was Wellness' latest change in the recipe. Just to make sure I was not going senile I spooned some into my cat's bowl anyway. He looked up at me disapprovingly, turned up his nose and walked away... We bought several other flavors (for our other cats) with the "new labeling" that had also undergone a change in consistency, smell and (judging by our cats' reactions) flavor. I don't know whether alternative meat sources are being used or if the company has recently changed ownership, but perhaps they are trying to shave costs and maximize profits. This has happened with several "premium" pet food companies lately and it upsets me... I wish we could be given the opportunity to just pay a higher price. Cats are such finicky creatures! I'd rather pay the higher price than spend money buying new foods in order to find another one they'll accept. I wish I had just fed homemade from the very beginning but unfortunately, my 2 oldest furbabies won't accept Mama's home cooking 🍳 . So the search for a cat food similar to the old Wellness formula continues... If anyone finds such, please let me know. Sorry so long! Thank you!

Wellness cat food in the 3 ounce cans at my grocery store is $1.59/can. That's $38 and change for 24 cans which means that I just saved $28 buying two cases of cat food. My big tom cat eats two cans a day so buying here I stand to save $425 per year on cat food. Think of how much single malt scotch I can buy for $425 LOL. This is the best price I've found on line. Amazon Prime got it to me in 2 days. Perfect! I suppose I should say something about the food but I think the Wellness brand speaks for itself. My cat loves all of the varieties. I got him a case of minced Tuna dinner and a case of Minced Turkey and he devours both. I've researched cat foods on line and this brand is highly rated for the use of top quality ingredients and minimal fillers. My cat does not have any food problems or special dietary needs.

My cat LOVES the tuna flavor! I also love this brand because they frequently donate their products to Best Friends Animal Society, where I volunteer and foster kittens

Cats enjoy it and they are picky when it comes to canned foods. Decent ingredients and a decent price. Happy Overall. All three cats will eat it without any allergic reactions.

I only feed my cat grain free pet food. Preferably wet canned cat food. My cat (who is finicky) really likes this food and I feel good about giving it to him. No grains to make him overweight. No byproducts to make him sick.

No longer an issue with their digestion problem. This product agrees with them.

Rascal likes it but not as much as the Merekk Duck Pate (that he inhales)or he prefers chicken strips rather than cubes.

My cats seemed to enjoy it initially, then would not finish. I was disappointed as I had to donate the rest of the cans.
