It already cooked. You need to heat and serve. It's ok. Not true Bavarian flavor. You need to go to German for the best. It will do for now. ENJOY

Don't know the shelf life --- however, you can put it in the refrigerator and it will probably last about a week -- put it in the freezer and it will probably go a month or two.
