Originally I replaced the grill grate with the same type that came with my Weber. It didn't last so I ordered this one. It fits perfectly and is certainly strong enough to support anything that I put on it. I did season it exactly the same way I would a cast iron pan. It has proven itself to be a great cooking surface. I have found that it conducts and retains heat so cooking time has been much shorter. It is a vast improvement over the original Weber grate.

I received a first one and first time use it just broke, surprised since it is cast iron, asked for replacement and got it, so far ot is great, heavy and fits great… even heat !!!

I actually bought this to replace the center of a regular grill grate that accidentally rusted and I couldn’t get off. I was concerned it would be too elevated and not work well with the regular grates. That isn’t the case. It’s awesome. Stuff is far less apt to stick to it. Will be purchasing the entire thing in the near future as it makes such a nice sear.

This is a nice grill grate. if you use a vortex it works well to add charcoal if needed.
