Quality carving wood
I wasn't sure about purchasing basswood online but took a chance and was totally satisfied with what I received. The basswood is soft and carves very well.

Excellent Carving Wood
Using the first one to carve a Santa and it is an excellent piece of wood! I expect the others will be the same. Easy to carve with a sharp knife.

Never Again!!
This wood is EXTREMELY hard and DIFFICULT to carve. I might as well be carving OAK. Will not purchase again and definitely NOT worth the Purchase price.

Nice and soft for carving. Size is as advertised. Beginners might want to consider getting gloves and maybe buying larger sized pieces- it’s easier to practice detail work if the whole piece is larger.
