Saved my door!
My garage door is 18 years and started to bow in the middle due to a loose rail bolt on one side causing the middle of the 16ft garage to bow and crease. I repaired the rail bolt but neglected the early middle bowing causing a glitch and studder when opening and closing on one of the quarter panels when going through the rail bends. Eventually, the quarter panels started to bow in the middle and prevented the door from closing because it would not fold at each bend going through the rail bends. Thus, I ordered 2 of these 16ft braces, screwed them on at the most bowing areas, and it worked flawless. I thought I would need another brace but ended up not needing it because I was able to re-bend the top most original brace. Each brace may contribute about 10lbs, so I did 2 quarter turns on the garage springs to compensate for the extra weight. I could almost get away without turning the springs but I did not want to wear out my garage motor in the long run. Tip: While garage is down, I screwed the middle 2ft bracket with one screw (long screw) to the middle of the garage door vertical brace to allow tilting for proper leveling, then attached the left 4ft piece onto the 2ft brace (short screws, see photo) making sure I slid the 4ft piece to align up and down, side to side, to the left side of the left most vertical brace before screwing the 4ft onto the 2ft brace. Then, I bolted the left bolted brace with 4ft and 2ft piece with one bolt on the far left garage vertical brace, then one bolt on the left middle vertical brace. Then I would do the same for the right side 4ft to 2ft and align the same way as the left side instructions. Then go back and bolt all the other bolts on each vertical brace. All this is easily done by myself as easily as can be, very light duty work. No pre drilling needed. Saved me money and they seemed more heavy duty compared to the original brace.

Surprised by the quality!
My garage door started to sag in the middle causing it to start folding the wrong way when opening and closing, causing pressure and then forcefully folding the correct way. This was happening to two panels, panels two and three (panels one and four already had struts). It was loud and started to develop a crack on the outside of the door. After some research I found that additional support struts would fix this. I couldn't find any locally, so I turned to Amazon and found these struts and ordered two. I received one box damaged and with the bag of hardware missing, but that's not on the seller. The hardware bag from the other strut box had plenty of extra self-tapping screws, so I didn't need to contact the seller for more, plus I removed the top screws from my hinges and reinstalled them to secure the bottom of the struts to the top of the hinges. The struts have a heavy duty feel to them and felt very solid after installation. Installation wasn't too difficult. I'm not a professional installer or anything. I am just an IT guy that is handy. I installed them by myself, but I recommend having someone else there to assist to make the installation easier. A few tips for others: 1. Be somewhat mechanically inclined. If not, know some one that is. You'll need to understand where you will need to install the struts for them to be effective and also be handy with tools. The struts come with pre-drilled holes, but you will likely be creating a handful of new ones to accommodate your door. 2. Have some decent tools. My cordless impact wrench made it easy to use the self-tapping screws to create new holes in the struts and securely attach them to the door. 3. Your door will be a little heavier now. You may need to adjust the opening/closing speeds on your garage door opener for quicker operation. 4. I found it easier to install the short reinforcement bracket to the center of the door first and then install each of the 8 ft struts. My door now opens perfectly. I recommend getting these struts. If I run into any issues down the road I will update this review, but I have a feeling that I won't need to.

good door stiffener.
My garage door was starting to sag in the middle. I was skeptical about this multi-piece stiffener, but its working great. Was pretty easy to install and does the job.

Good purchase
No instructions but it’s easy enough. Garage door was sagging and two of them straightened it up.

Saved my sagging garage door (and saved me hundreds in repair costs)
I used this strut to repair a garage door panel that was caving in, and thankfully it worked. The strut itself was straight and strong, and the self-tapping screws did their job. There are zero instructions included in the package so YouTube will be your friend. If you have a similar issue, you’ll need to attach the strut directly below the joint, in the metal. Often there were no pre-drilled holes in that exact spot; that’s what the self tapping screws are for (you’ll want an impact drill with socket attachments). I used a few extra screws in the middle for strength.

Need to read specifications
After receiving product it did not have any instructions how to install. I thought I was purchasing two 16ft pieces but to my surprise it was two 91 inch pieces that did not help with the sagging of my panel.
