Ordered 2. Fine so far. Fit and charged both of our Fire 10 HDs. 10 foot length is great. I usually get 1-2 years use out of this type of cable using them every day. Just normal wear and tear and/or kinking the line will eventually degrade the cable- just a note for those that think a light cable by weight that doesn't put as much pressure and damage/degrade the female Fire socket as much as a heavier cable weight would do, is handled constantly and subject to twisting motions by the user- and insist on pulling the cable out by using the line instead of the plug itself- should somehow last forever. I'd sooner replace the lighter cable than pull the board and have to repair the female socket in terms of downtime and cost. The last thing you would want is to use a less flexible heavier or reinforced cable on the fire port to stress that port especially when you are moving it around. And I do use the Fire while charging it, moving both the Fire and the cable. This is not built any worse than any prior cables I've used. In fact, the build is to pretty good tolerances, being reasonably snug on both the Fire and Anker charger ends (good charger). Any earlier failures are usually associated with customer abuse by tearing the cable out of either the charger or Fire or customers yanking on the cord improperly. I've accidentally done it by either tripping on it or snagging the cord on something while it was plugged in to either or both the charger and Fire. I'm not different than anyone else wanting something for nothing, but IMO for the price for the 10 foot length was not out-of-line. Edit: out of some irritation I would point out from the comments I've seen here that it DOES charge both my 7 and 10. Just as a matter of common sense if it fits the Fire slot it will charge. If you have an old(er) Kindle please check your battery or charger, including the connection port before dunning this cord. They do get old, get loose and they do go bad. 99 times out of 100, it ain't the new cord; it's the port, the battery or the charger. But some people would prefer to dun the cord because it's cheaper than the alternative they might have to face. As an example, the port was going bad on my 7 due to wear and tear and it would only charge by my putting pressure on the port. It just made sense (for me) due to cost and age at that point to upgrade to the 10. Yes, if you are charging it while in use it will charge more slowly...live with it...these units use a lot of power. If anything, it would be of SOME help if you would charge it fully when not in use, limit the amount of illumination while in use when it makes sense to do so, especially during the night and turn off the wireless if you do not immediately need it...use whatever power saving functions are available whether on this or any other unit to help its battery performance. Just make sure of the connection: whether it's micro-USB or C. Just because a company says it fits a Fire 10 doesn't mean it fits all Fire 10s...all you have to do is look at your port.

Many of Us have too many chargers, lying around. I used to think that, as long as the charger 'fit', it was OK. But, it's NOT OK, and as a result We end up with equipment that's improperly charged. I'm a semi-invslid, but I AM well enough to do bookwork at Home, for Our HOA, COMMUNITY PATROL, etc. I also LOVE 💘to play games, and although not nearly as much as I used to, like to spend time in FB. And, of course most importantly, purchase a LOT from AMAZON. My poor FIRE HE 8th Generation gets much use, and little rest time. When the charger went bad, I began using a charger from another device. I finally broke down, and purchased THIS charger, the charger FOR My tablet. It does a great job, and actually FITS the way it should. Being 10' in length, is a plus, because I can have My Breakfast, sir and play My games, while it's charging. AMAZON, I've been a LOYAL Customer, for going 10 Years, and You just keep getting better. I have ONLY ONE concern: How is ok t, with as many purchases as I make, EVERY WEEK, that I've never been asked to do an 'Honest Opinion', in exchange for a free priduct? Bought as a replacement for my Kindle cord. I dropped my Kindle when I was picking up to unplug from the charger and bent the part that goes into the Kindle and could not use it. I really like this one. I does the job just fine, and the longer cord is a plus. I like to watch my Amazon videos at night when I cannot sleep and if the power runs low I can hook up and continue watching. Highly recommend for a replacement cable. This does not come with the block, but my original one is still going strong and this cable plugged into it just fine.

Only lasted a few weeks then stopped charging. Now works great.. will order more.

I am lost when I need to order anything to do with electronics. I am disabled and am not bed ridden but do spend more hours in the bed than I would like. I needed a cord that would allow me to elevate my bed and would be long enough to charge my tablet, I like to read and watch movies and play games to fill the times when my pain is simply not cooperating. This cord is perfect. Can not comment on all the techy stuff so read other reviews for that but rest assured that it attaches to my Kindle Fire 8 very securely and it will charge very nicely and quickly even when I am using the tablet. I had another cord that kept falling out and another one that was so slow to charge and would get messages that let me know that using it while charging wasn't really a great idea. So thrilled with this cord that I will re-order in a heart beat. Update: I ordered this in June, 2018. I suppose I should be thrilled that it lasted this long (Feb., 2019) but disappointed. It is so loose that it keeps falling out of the tablet and I have to hold it just precisely or it will not charge. Guess I may expect too much but I was careful and wish it would have lasted longer.

I bought this because I was tired of using the short charger cords & not being able to reach my phone. This cord is wonderful. I've even had to use it in the hospital & it was plenty long. Just make sure you have the adapter to plug into a socket because this cord is made to charge through a USB port. It will work with the electric adapter if you have one.

Got this cord for my kindle fire. The cord that comes with the kindle is short. I often read all day and need to charge my kindle. I didn’t want to wait for it to charge so I ordered a longer cord. This cord allows me to lay in bed or on the couch and read while charging. Love it!!
