Great light but...
One niggly problem is that after a power cut the time resets to midnight and all settings are lost. Other than that this is a great, very bright, aquarium light with a good range of colours/effects.

Excellent light
Love everything about this light my plants are growing lovely and pearl continously while the light is on I will be buying more. I also love the smaller 600mm light to equally as good.

Not very impressed
Much cheaper APS light in another tank gives significantly better plant growth, This creates lots of algae running for same photo period, Also runs incredibly hot. (It will burn you if you pick it up). Intermittently the timer does not work and have to manually turn off at night. Will give it another few weeks but if it keeps playing up will contact Hygger, brought two different models from Hygger. They have replaced one already as had faulty LEDs, looks like this one may also be faulty. Their customer service is good, but I am not convinced on quality of their lights.

Worth every penny
After HOURS of searching the internet and gathering info on various brands of lights from the really expensive ones to the low budget brands I decided to give the Hygger a goโฆ and I have to say itโs brilliant!, Iโve got a big mix of different plants in my 180 litre community tank and this grows them all from Monte Carlo and other carpeting species to water wisteria and tiger lotus plus Java ferns and Anubisโฆ Iโve even got 2 bucephalandra that are actually flowering! I liked it so much I bought a second one to cover my three planted Betta tanks. The controls and timer are really easy to get the hang ofโฆ (diy mode is a little more complicated but I just use the standard timed mode)โฆ I use what should be the "moon lightโ mode like a dawn instead and change the colour to soft amber rather then blue and set it to come on for an hour at 5am so I can feed the fish before I go to work then the main daylight mode comes on at 12pm and goes off at 9pm, this in conjunction with TNC lite fertiliser has got my tank looking like a jungle and giving me the best results Iโve ever had in a planted tank. Also I really like the way the light intensity fades up and down as itโs coming on and off rather than suddenly blasting my fishes retinas with full power or plunging them into pitch black without warning. Initially I was hesitant about spending almost ยฃ70 on a light from a brand I wasnโt familiar with but I have to say itโs amazing value for the quality and versatility youโre getting, it does everything I need and much more, highly recommend to anyone.

Won't last long. Good Light but way fragile.
Bought in 26th June. Today 4th September, less than 3 months, the light stopped working. The fact the LCD is togueter with the light makes it way more fragile and any drop of water can damage it. Funny that's intended to be on top of an aquarium. The light itself is good. The number of LEDs are just perfect and the setup works well too. The size matches the aquarium, thanks to its extendible arms which makes things easier and more compatible. But, for the price it should last longer and I'm disappointed to not have any warranty, just Amazon Return policy which is indeed not enough. I'd recommend on with controlers stiing on the cable, not on the light itself.

Easy to use and looks good on my 300l aquarium.
Looks good on my aquarium and really easy to use. All you have to do is set the time and it has a default timer that turns itself on, dims the white light, switches to the blue light and turns itself off. You can adjust all these settings but the default has worked fine for me. The extendable legs make it fit really easily.

So far, so good - gets very hot though
This has replaced the original light on my Fluval Roma, and I have to say, the light output is fantastic. It covers the entire aquarium very well and the colours from my fish and plants are the best I've seen them. It does seem to get extremely hot on the top of the casing above the actual LEDs (60w version). This concerns me, as I can't imagine it will last too long with this kind of dissapation, however I can't say anything yet, but I will update this as the months go by. The settings the light offers are also very good, it's has very good programmability without the need to set it up on my smart home, which is what I was looking for. Overall, pleased so far, but time will tell with regards to build quality and how the plants do with it! Update 31/05/2024: Been using this for about 6 months now. It is still working well, however, I have one gripe with it. Whilst you can create your own routine, which though it's a little limited is sufficient, however it doesn't allow you to save light intensity into that program. This means that unless you run the light in manual mode, you cannot control the light intensity. This has made it difficult for me to get the right balance of light in my tank. Plants haven't done that well either, but that may be down to me not dosing enough fertilizer. I've changed my schedule on this, so will report back again in a few months.
