Excellent keeping qualities. Useful Information: C Sow and grow: Outdoors: Sow thinly March-April, where they are to crop, 1.5 cm (1/2-inch) deep, directly into finely-prepared, well-dug, fertile soil, which has already been watered. Allow 30 cm (1-feet) between rows. Seedlings usually appear in 14-28 days. Thin s to 23 cm (9-inch) apart. Trans thinnings or use in salads. Or sow indoors, January-April, for larger bulbs, 0.5 cm (1/4-inch) deep, in a tray of seed compost. Water well and maintain a temperature of 15-20 degree C (60-68 degree F). Keep moist. Trans, 5 cm (2") apart, to other trays when large enough to handle. Gradually accustom young s to outside conditions (avoid frosts), before ing out 23 cm (9-inch) apart, during April-May. Harvest: August-September. Hints and tips: Encourage ripening by gently turning down the foliage as it starts to turn yellow. Allow to dry before storing in a cool, dry room.
