I haven't worn sandals before. They weren't cool when I was young - old man's stuff - especially with socks. I love these as they fit really well and allow much needed air to the feet on hot days. All round excellent!

For what they cost (£15 at time of purchase) they're actually a decent deal. They're lightweight, and comfortable. Easily washable too. Their durability is laughable however. The outer sole (ie the bottom of the sandal / the grip) is very obviously designed to wear out after about 50km total, if you're lucky. So for pottering around on holiday for a few weeks, they're amazing. For sandals to stick in the closet and wear in the occasional heatwave in Britain, they're also probably a really good purchase. They'd make excellent occasional beach sandals, I suspect. If you're going somewhere you'll need to walk any real distance in sandals, for any real time - say a couple of months in Asia or a summer in the South of France or something - pay more and get something with far, far better outer soles. You really do get what you pay for, and these are as cheap as it gets. While comfortable, these are absolutely not designed to last any significant mileage, I cannot emphasise that enough.

I bought these for wearing indoors. And they'll be just fine for that. But if you want to wear them outside on pavement or a bit of wilderness, look elsewhere. The outer sole is made of a plastic like material that doesn't feel like it will take the punishment of concrete or stones. They might be ok for an occasional walk outside but don't expect tens or hundreds of miles of outdoor walking. They're light weight which is nice. The inner sole is comfortable. The ankle straps though not uncomfortable they easily leave an impression of its pattern on my skin. Only delivered 4 hours ago, and had them on and then off. Ok for the price point and my personal needs.
