ROVSUN 【Upgraded】 1.1 Gallon/4L Water Distiller Countertop Distilled Water Machine with Flame-Retardant Material, BPA-Free Container & Stainless Steel Interior, 750W Distilled Water Maker Purifier

I'm very pleased with this after 2 months of daily use. The previous distiller we used daily for about 3 years broke (motor burnt out), so I ordered this one as a replacement. One thing I like about it is the durable plastic pitcher. Our old distiller came with a glass one, which broke, so I always had to use a metal pot for the water to collect in and it therefore took a long time for the distilled water in the pot to cool. With the plastic pitcher, I can pour the distilled water directly into our brita pitcher right away once distilling is done because it doesn't stay hot. Secondly, I've only used two distillers so I don't know what the average noise level is. But I would say this one is the same in comparison to our old one - not too loud but not exactly quiet either. As far as how long it takes to do the whole gallon - again, it's the same as our old distiller, so about 3.5 hours. Thirdly, it's simple to use. Just fill it up and turn on the back switch. The front button is only for when the previous cycle shut off automatically (sounds complicated to a new user, but it's really not). I tend to try to switch it off before it turns off automatically so that I'm not left with calcified water at the bottom of the distiller. Sometimes, however, I'm in another room and busy doing other things so I don't shut it off and I am left with chunks of caked-on hard water at the bottom. My old distiller did the same so I'm used to this. I just rinse it well until the chunks loosen. I can't seem to get the citric acid to really clean the bottom well, but to me this isn't a big deal as this doesn't affect the water we are actually drinking. Lastly, I had a bit of a hard time "lifting" the spout to get to the carbon filter. I felt like I was going to break it considering how hard I had to pull to get it off. But the spout did come off and the filter can be changed. Maybe next time it won't be as hard to pull off. Overall, I'm really happy with this distiller and I like the look of it too!

This distiller has worked well for me for about 2 years now. I use it occasionally in the summer and daily in the Winter and Fall for my humidifier, which makes cleaning much easier than using tap water. I descale the insides with 4tbsp food-grade citric acid and running it for 30 minutes with the top off to boil the solution. After 2 years, the bottom of the distiller is slightly tarnished, but otherwise it is in good shape. I have never had issues with the fan or outer plastic shell. One thing that has improved the lifespan is that I only run the device for 3h30min at a time, so it never completely dries out. I recommend buying an electrical timer switch that will automatically power off the distiller. The noise is manageable. The provided instructions are clear and it is simple to use.

I purchased this to distill water for my C-Pap. I wasn’t sure where to put the charcoal filter due to not getting any dirt tons but eventually figured it out. It is a little noisy so I prefer to start it before bed so I can’t hear it while I sleep in the other room. The water tastes much better and at times I’ll make a few gallons to keep in the fridge. It’s the perfect amount for me. Making a gallon at a time I’ll save money over time and prevent more plastic waste from entering our landfills.

I purchased this item approximately 8 months ago. I have used it DAILY since then.... It has served me well, with no problems. I set it and forget it. It is easy to clean with a bit of citric acid to dissolve the lime buildup (I have very hard water in my area). Completely satisfied with this purchase.

I've been using the 1.1 gallon distiller since July 2023, it has been working without any problems and continues to work. My only complaint is the metal top for when making distilled water, it fits very loosely and if not very careful about how it sits the water will run down the inside of it and out on top of the water jug flooding your counter top... I stopped using that top and use a small funnel instead and no flooded counter tops. (it's a small funnel that came with an olive oil sprayer for refilling the sprayer, but there are many small funnels that can be found in any store that would work). I did start to let it turn itself off and not worry about a timer to turn it off. I did install a water softener system and a couple of whole house filters to my water from the well and that has taken care of the problem with difficulty of cleaning. Seems the hard water residue was what was difficult to clean but still had a kind of iron/rust residue but that was still in a liquid state and has been easy to clean with pretty much just rinsing it. Since I use this distilled water for drinking and cooking after running it through a reverse osmosis filter and use more then a gallon per day and I like to keep a 7 gallon storage tank full of distilled water (for use in the reverse osmosis filter) I would need to run the 1.1 gallon distiller at least twice a day to not run out of drinking water. I did just buy the ROVSUN【Upgraded】 1.6 Gallon/6L Water Distiller on May 13th 2026 and run both once a day for total of about 2.5 gallons of distilled water. So far the 1.6 gallon distiller has been working just as well as the 1.1 gallon. The 1.6 gallon is of course bigger and is taller then the old 1.1 gallon and will not fit under the cabinets on my counter top as the 1.1 gallon does. It does take a little longer to distill the 1.6 gallons but it takes a lot less time to fill up the 7 gallon water storage container when using both distillers. I figure this is a ok temporary measure until I can buy one of those $1,000 plus 10 plus gallon per day stand alone distiller with a 10 gallon plus storage tank that can feed distilled water directly to my freezer's ice maker. Currently I use a table top ice maker and use the water from the reverse osmosis filter to fill it and use the freezer to store the ice in but not use the freezer's ice maker. Is using distillers worth the effort? Yes. If you could see the residue left behind after the distillation process you would wonder why you had been drinking water from the tap. The water from my tap has always looked clear and really didn't taste bad but I had noticed the scale build up on the faucets and shower head and the rust build up on the walls of the shower. It was why I bought a distiller for making drinking water but then after refilling the distiller several times without rinsing it the residue was a thick orange sludge and hard water residue that was difficult to remove, my first thought was "I'm drinking that!"... so I installed a water softener, whole house filters and bought the reverse osmosis counter top filter just to be sure the water is pure and safe to drink. The water softener does help a lot with the hard water and it also removes some rust from the water too as can be seen from the rust stains on the concrete in front of my garage where the water softener rinse water flows. I think in the end the only thing anyone can do to make sure their drinking water is safe to drink is by using a distiller which by itself should be enough but then running the distilled water through a reverse osmosis filter would make sure any VOCs are also removed. ______________________ I have well water that used to be very good tasting, the water was very hard water but I didn't mind that. A few years ago when I filled my pool the water was crystal clear even in the 7 foot deep end. Then for some reason over the last year the well water has been getting cloudy even in a drinking glass of water. Turns out was getting a lot of iron in the water now and and when used for cooking it would turn a kind of brownish color when boiled. I decided using that water for drinking or cooking might not be a good idea. So I bought this water distiller... I'm so glad I did. After running a first batch to clean out the distiller I filled up a 2.5 gallon container with a spigot I put in the fridge and filled up the gallon jug that came with it for coffee water, cooking and for my cat's water bowl. The distilled water is crystal clear and taste very good. I find myself drinking more water now then I had been. I do set a timer so I can unplug it before it runs dry so it wouldn't be too difficult to clean. About 3.5 hours seems to be a good amount of time with almost filling the gallon jug and still have an inch or so of water left in the distiller. And that water is disgusting looking... yeah it has all the hard water minerals and the iron residue in that left behind water. I do open it to refill as soon as it's finished (by timer) but it does boil the water into steam and that is why it's distilled water and if opening it while still full of steam you risk getting a steam burn. I give it a few minutes before opening it and open it away from me. It doesn't have much pressure as it's not a pressure cooker and doesn't have anything that locks the top down... it just sits on top with a silicon gasket holding it in place sealing it. With my water I can refill it once before having to dump out the remaining water and give it a rinse before refilling it. The negative side of it is the water pot is built into the bottom and trying to clean and rinse it and not get the outside of it wet can be difficult. I really wish it had a pot that could be removed like an instapot has then there wouldn't be any chance of getting the electrical parts wet. Hopefully this will continue working for a very long time. Time will tell on that. But for the price even if had to replace once a year it's still worth it to have good drinking water.

This distiller is slightly larger than many, but what attracted us was the on/off switch for AC power. No need to pull the plug to power down. It runs quietly, and was easy to clean up after use. We liked the plastic catch container - no glass to break! Our use is in a humidifier to avoid the white dust, and occasionally in an iron, etc. We do not use the carbon filter, which keeps things simpler, and particularly like the short flexible tube that can be attached to the spout to ensure all the condensate is directed into the catch container, and not dribbling off the edge of the lid with a slight misalignment. A tube of this kind could be added to similar distillers if they don't include one. We ran it on a Kill-A-Watt meter and were surprised to find that it consumed almost exactly the 900 watts at which it is rated, peaking briefly at about 905 watts, then settling down around 890-900 watts. It took about 3.7 kilowatt-hours to produce approximately 1.33 gallons of distilled water. (Note that we do not operate it at "full capacity", from fill line to dry - see next paragraph.) We avoid the overheating shutoff by measuring the capacity of the distiller just below the fill line (where we fill it), and note that level on the catch container. We power it off when the distilled water has filled to an inch or two below that. This leaves an inch or more of water in the bottom of the distiller. By not boiling it dry, we avoid depositing a lot of minerals in the bottom of the distiller stainless steel pot, and also avoid distilling over any small amount of heavy volatiles that boil at a higher temperature than water. We intend to plug it into timer switch capable of switching the 900 watt load, so allowing it to run without checking its progress. It is pretty reliable in timing, if started with the same amount of water, at the same temperature. We use hot water from the tap (actually just warm, as we keep the water heater set low), and our water is softened, which helps avoid lime scale. A cleaning with vinegar removes nearly all the "staining" we get in the bottom of the distiller pot, leaving only a faint stain that penetrated the surface of the steel right away, but is not really darkening with repeated use. Starting with hot water shortens the time before it starts boiling and producing condensed water. This water is heated with natural gas in the water heater, more cheaply than heating it with electricity in the distiller. Leaving some (hot) water in the bottom at the end of each use wastes the electricity used to heat it up. We are talking a few cents here, either way. At our electrical billing, I recall calculating the cost of distilled water at about 30 cents per gallon. (Forgive me if the power usage and cost data are a bit off, I am going from memory.) We are quite happy with this ROVSUN 6L distiller, and can recommend it. Our usage method was inspired both by our own ideas and the reports of other reviewers (thanks to all for reporting your experiences). Operated with a little care, it works fine, does not leak, and is easy to clean.

I got the red one. The outer red finish seems to scratch easy, so I handle it with care to keep it pretty. I use this for drinking water, sometimes cooking, so I make a LOT of distilled water. Getting the glass collection pot full takes about 3 1/2 hours. I fill the tank just below the fill line and after setting a separate timer I purchased to shut off the device at 3 hr & 37 minutes I have a full collection pot of water. Purchasing a separate timer allows me to prevent the tank’s auto shut off device from triggering, which means there is always about 1/3 of an inch of water left in the bottom of the tank when it shuts off. I read this makes it easier to clean & this is 100% true. By leaving some water always inside, the mineral deposits will build up to a thin layer and loosen on their own, which can then be tossed with the water at the end of each use. I still need to clean it but only every 4 or 5 months as it doesn't all come off using this method, but much of it does. I read someone said the lid of the collection pot leaks when pouring. I found this is true if the lid is not on properly, but I have had zero problems with leaks from the collection pitcher or the unit. The only thing I would highly recommend, which may be why some folks have leaks, is getting a silicone funnel (about 2.5” length) to prevent the water from missing the collection jar. The water dripping into the collection pot can sputter at times, so I've always used the little funnel, as shown in my photo, & with great success. I run it outside in the summer and indoors in the winter because of the heat it puts out. During the winter it’s great to have the added heat and humidity. So far an excellent buy.

The machine works just fine as described so far. No complaints there. Limitless distilled water on demand for my humidifier has been a nice little luxary this season. The jug that came with it is absolutely the worst, though. It does its one job of holding water very poorly. The cap bottoms out before creating a seal and opening at top of the jug where the cap screws on has a prominent flat spot on either side which looks to be not a defect but a design flaw, so there is a clear path for a significant leakage. I would imagine that they all come that way. It leaks... a LOT. Don't use that jug they give you unless you only want to do a quart at a time or just walk at an impossibly slow pace with that jug even half of water or you will have plenty of spills all over yourself and your floors. This may seem trivial but finding a replacement gallon jug on day one that is the right size to fit under the machine is not cheap.
