Intimina Lily Cup One: Collapsible Menstrual Period Starter

This was my first ever cup. It took a little getting used to but when flo arrived I put it to work and it felt comfortable and secure (even if the first time I tried to insert it I had a mini panic attack because I was afraid it would be uncomfortable like a tampon silly me) I did have one little leak but that was my fault for rushing and not checking it was fully sealed (luckily I was wearing a panty liner) in that situation all I had to do was give it a little sweep around with my finger and it sealed into place properly. I haven't had any leaks since but have found that it does need to sit a little higher for me (turns out I have a high cervix) so getting it out proved to be a little challenge (safe to say I'm quite acquainted with my body now) for this reason I decided to purchase the original lily cup to see if that would be more beneficial for me as it's longer. I found it easiest to remove it by sitting on the toilet and I've never spilt it or dropped it. It can still be a challenge putting it in, I still haven't quite found the right position to put it in standing or squating so I've had to resort to lying to get it right (luckily I've been at home so not an issue especially as I'm only needing to empty it morning and night). I love that I can leave it in for 12 hours. When I removed it even on my heaviest day (usually end of day one and day two) it was only about half full a definite improvement on the copious pads I would go through. It feels secure and for someone who hasn't been able to use tampons due to how much they cause me pain, dry me out, that annoying little string and the smell (same issue for pads minus the pain but more mess) this has been a life saver. I also love how it is so compact and it doesn't collapse easily as it's fairly rigid. I have to really press to get it to collapse so I'm not sure what's happening to some people :S. I don't notice it when it's in unless I really think about it. I have occasionally gotten what feels like air bubbles but they come out quickly with a few kegels or you can press the side to burp it and they go away pretty quick) I think this cup is great for throwing in a bag if you are going out and know flo is due because of the little case. Definitely recommend for a beginner cup (I can see why it's aimed at teens) but for me this is going to most likely be a back up cup as it's just a touch too short for my body. Still 5 stars.

I’m quite lucky, this is only the second cup that i’ve bought. I know people that have have to get 5 or 6 different cups because they just haven’t found the right one. The first one I got was for women that have given birth, considering I’ve had three children I decided it would prob be a good one for me. I was so wrong, it was just too big and far too firm. It pushed on my bladder so much that I constantly felt like I needed to pee, but then couldn’t. I could feel it all the time so I chucked it and gave up on cups completely. I realised months later that I actually just needed a smaller softer cup, so did some research and found this one. It said it was aimed at beginners and teens, I knew it was smaller and softer and I loved the fact that it scrunched up and had a little case that I can just put in my pocket or bag. This cup is amazing! Can’t feel it at all and very easy to put in. Lasts all day so no need to try and rinse out in a public bathroom. I highly recommend this as a first cup, don’t do what most people do and end up getting loads of different ones. Get this, weather your young old, had kids or not. I think this will work for most people! 100% converted to cups! No more tampons for me 😂 Also one of the cheapest cups I’ve seen, for the price of 5 boxes of tampons but will last you 10 years. The thing with cups is that everyone’s vajayjay is different, therefore this one won’t be suited to everyone. However it’s a very good one to start with. If you are having trouble putting it in then YouTube is your friend! There are a number of different folds you can try, so if the first one doesn’t work try another one. Please don’t be put off by some of the bad reviews, they either weren’t using it right or it wasn’t the right cup for them. I had no problem with it, because I did my research it took me less than a minute to get it in and I had zero leaks even the first time I used it DO IT! If this one isn’t right for you then please try a different one, because I know it will change your life, I promise

So I don't normally write reviews unless a product is particularly bad or good but I had to write this to help other ladies because it took my years of wanting to try a cup to actually finding one I wanted to purchase, and I wasn't disappointed. My issue was heavy periods and having to change towels and tampons (tampons alone were not enough on my heaviest days) and somehow I often had little leaks even on normal days. I couldn't decide on cup size because I am over 40 with no children but I had read reports of some cups for older ladies being too big and uncomfortable. I finally decided to bite the bullet and order the Lily One which is specially designed for teens and first time users and I am glad I did because after inserting I could still feel the cup and the little handle hangs out a little. (I might end up trimming this because I found I can easily remove without using this.) Even so, the soft silicone isn't uncomfortable and much like a wedding ring, after a while you don't seem to notice it. It's much more comfortable than tampons and stays in place until you are ready to remove it. The only downside for me was nothing to do with the cup itself and more my personal issues. Because I chose a smaller, beginners cup, I did find that on my heaviest day after 5 hours the cup was almost full so I would have to wake up in the night to empty and as with all cups, it can get a bit messy so it can be hard to fall back asleep after cleaning up and larger cup might be uncomfortable as theese cups sit lower than a tampon does. The best part is that not only is this much mre comfortable than tampons, I have absolutely no leaks and I now feel confident enough to ditch the pads but will probably still use a panty liner just in case when out and about and even if I do need to empty it every 5/6 hours on my heaviest day, that's better than every 3 hours like I need to do with tampons! I was worried I wouldn't be able to remove it easily but I couldn't be more wrong. I just squeeze the base and then slowly and carefully ease it out gently. My only regret is that I didn't buy this sooner.

Having really struggled with other cups- insertion and taking out!! I should’ve had this cup to start with! But all the ‘guidance’ led me to larger cups as I’m over 25, overweight and have three children- first a vaginal birth but over 21 years ago. This cup is more suitable for me. It’s way smaller than the other cups I’ve tried more malleable so it’s far easier to insert and the pull ring makes it so much easier to take out. Even though I have a heavy flow it’s been fine. Still wouldn’t be confident to take out the cup unless I was at home. I just feel more comfortable to make it a part of my showering routine- keeps everything clean. I had to go against all guidance to finally get a cup I can use easily. I don’t get cramps with this cup like I did with Tampons- I strongly recommend a lily cup; only downside to this cup is that you can’t have intercourse with one in. Other cups you can if you wish to. I don’t understand how other cups I’ve tried you can have intercourse with as they’ve been bigger and had longer more rigid stems!!! I didn’t give five stars yet as I’ve only just started to use this cup but maybe I’ll increase it to five stars in future for ease of use and comfort.

Bought to replace previous cup. Durable, value for money, high quality. Being collapsible makes it easy to store or carry in my bag discreetly. Only replaced previous as recommended after 1yr. Comfortable, easy to use, clean & store. Can last 4-12 hours

Never used a cup before (or tampons) but I thought with my heavy periods that made every movement a trip to the bathroom, I'd give it a shot. Liked that this was a more affordable option, loved the idea that it was so discreet and portable. But it seems I have a low cervix so this cup felt far too big and uncomfortable, although putting it in was easy enough, it opened every time. But removing it was a different story. No matter how hard I tried, what position I was in, the seal was nearly impossible to break. Because of the fold-up design, when you press the bottom of the cup, only that section collapses and the seal remains. The same goes for moving further up the cup. Perhaps its just my body and the fact I seem quite narrow down there, but it just caused me far too much discomfort, stress and pain. The design is nice, it feels great quality, but its not for me sadly. Ive bought a smaller cup of a standard shape and its faring better. To any ladies reading that are new to cups; make sure you measure the height of your cervix and try to understand your nether region as best you can so you can get the best cup for yourself first time.

This product has changed my life!! I’ve always been a tampons girl, I hated the mess with pads and the feeling of wearing it. Used tampons for years until I heard about period cups, I was a bit scared of the idea to begin with until I heard more about them. Seen this and decided to try it after doing some research. I fell in love with this product, it was beginner friendly, had instructions with the pack AND a case for on the go! I’ve tried both techniques to put it in and both work well for me, always run ur finger round the rim of the cup though and make sure it’s fully around ur cervix. Once in I can’t feel it at all and I can go about my day and do anything I normally would, I’ve only ever had leakage when it’s not been inserted correctly. For removal I’d recommend using ur finger to push on the rim of the cup until you break the seal then sort of scooping it out or use 2 fingers to pinch it and remove. Once you get the hang of removing it becomes pretty mess free (depending on how full the cup is). Once removed I usually rinse in the sink until clean and put it back in. I love that it comes with the case too, as someone who always has irregular periods so never knows when it will be, having the cup in its case I can just throw it in my bag or pocket and take it everywhere with me. I loved this so much that I seen Intimina also do the period cup “disk” so decided currently trying that (so far so good) 100% recommend trying this!!

This has been my first and only cup, and I've had it for four years. It's stood the test of time with regular cleaning in boiling water. I love the compactness of it, and it fits into my small bags and is useful in an emergency. Sadly, I'm unable to compare it to others, so take what you will from this next bit. As I imagined, it took a while to get used to successfully placing it. In the beginning, there were leaks due to my own fault. This got better with practice, though the worry was still in the back of my mind. I have a tilted cervix (whatever that means). I've had two C-section babies, and I've now reached 30. So don't let the "starter cup" make you think it's for a particular age group. It might not be for everyone, but it's been an incredible introduction to this method.

It has taken me 6 months to get used to this cuo. I primarily use it at night because the ring is actually uncomfortable if you're being very active during the day. And the vacuum on this cup is actually insanely good. The bad part about that is it is a little harder to remove. So as a beginner I only started reaching for this cup after I got comfortable with removal.
