As he stumbles through this haze of depression and drugs, he must find a way to cover the biggest story of the year, the presidential election. Armed with only his demented mind and dark sense of humor, Spider embarks on an adventure of political cynicism, horrific sex, and unwelcome celebrity which culminates in a shocking and ruinous ending.

Wow great great story
Love everything about it. And everything is just so BIG, it's hard to explain but everything is going 100000% all the time a 100000 million miles a second and the way its told and lettered and drawn is just BIG everything is like the main character in your face, bombastic. The characters are great can't wait to see where the wind blows now with everything that happens in the last 15-20 pages hell the last 15-20 panels lol. Great all around once you get the 1st volume down, you start to see why this is such a highly regarded comic and just great piece of literature. Absolute must read can't wait to see what happens in volume 4.

Getting better
When compared to the first two volumes this one is much better. You could even skip the first two and read this one on it's own. It's a great story that really shows why this book is recommended so much.

A true classic
Poignant truths wrapped in crazy absurdity. I came back to buy these a decade after reading them online. They're as good as I remember.

The comic is great but it arrived rolled up like a newspaper.

Transmetropolitan matures
The story is really getting interesting at this point. Spider's been well introduced in the previous two books, and now Ellis starts to introduce some real complexities.Spider makes what seems to be a definite decision that he's going back into the mountains after it's all over.He gets an assistant that appears to be a long term one.His editor reveals that Spider needs to be hated to work. And, he starts covering the election, which seems like it's going to be big in the upcoming books.I love Spider's different facial expressions. And, the writing is excellent. I'm going to read all of Transmetropolitan.

This series never ceases to blow my mind.
Seriously, Spider is often vile, but all in the search for truth at all costs in a messed up cyberpunk dystopia with commentary about society more relevant than ever. Absurdist, it may be, but also very much on point.

Politics gets interesting
Willie's revenge fantasy on politics seems even more apt now than it did at the time as the spectacle of elections has increased since the 1990s. This is the bread and butter of Ellis's satire.

Wegweisend

Love it! This story is a must read.

On of the greatest comic book series you will ever read.
Classic stuff. It shows that Ellis and Ennis would end up knowing each other, they have similarly edgy styles unafraid of social commentary. Great read, bought these in graphic novel format because I couldn't stand to risk sullying my original boarded and bagged single issues.

Back to basics and politics
Spider Jerusalem in this tpb is brilliant! You knew it had to happen and he had to cover the political election, and he does so wonderfully. Spider's ability to read people and professionally write his articles is uncanny. This volume was hilarious and a nice cheeky touch at how elections work. A great trade and the series continues it's brilliance with the year of the bastard!

Spider for president
Loved this volume, it's an election year n spider smells a rat. Which candidate should he support and what will happen to those who get in the way of the truth? Have a guess!
