It’s a great shelf! Just note to self press hard with the (8 screws) because they are so short they don’t fit without pressure. But easy to put together and very sturdy it does move easily so if your child likes to climb I suggest anchoring it.

As a Montessori teacher I’ve seen (and purchased) a lot of shelves for schools. When I wanted something for my own home that was affordable and quality, these were what I chose. They have been such an excellent addition to our space. So easy to assemble I was able to do it myself with little issue. Will buy more as needed!

Good shelf, good quality but the finish is a bit sloppy. There are places where you can see the finish running in streaks. Nothing that would really make a difference and its so light you can barely notice. For the price it's great great but if you want a higher quality finish I would recommend ECR4kids brand.

Great shelf- It's being used in a preschool classroom and perfect size for a smaller shelf! Great quality and putting it together was so easy.

Advertising this as a Montessori product seems misleading. The shelf itself looks okay, not entirely lightweight but for the price, I expected better attention to detail. This is the: 25.1" x 11.8" 2 Tiers Shelf out of the Home Series. There are visible metal screws that are not countersunk into the furniture or covered with wood plugs, leaving the hardware exposed. There are also random dark spots/imperfections along the edges of the pieces, which is relatively fine since we prefer "wood" furniture but as you can see one dark spot center on middle shelf is a but unattractive. I feel that this product and many lines of children's furniture are overpriced and that's handed down to the consumers. It shipped quickly, with minimal foam inserts, packaged/shipped in the manufacturer's box although each piece was protected by coverings. One piece did arrive with some minor crushing/damage. I suspected there was really no way around that for the shipping company due to how its packaged at the manufacturer. One thing to be aware of if you're considering purchasing multiple pieces from the Home Series: if you push two or more pieces directly together, the screws on the sides appear they would interfere with each other, so the pieces may not sit completely flush together. The quality is okay overall, but I would expect more attention to detail at this price point. I also have some concerns about the shelf's stability and suspect it may eventually rock if children regularly lean or pull on it. They do include a nice pair of metal wall brackets, which I appreciate from a safety standpoint. However, this is something to consider if you're specifically purchasing it as a Montessori-style shelf. In many Montessori classrooms and Montessori/Reggio Emilia-influenced playrooms, low shelves may be used as freestanding pieces to help define open-ended play and work areas rather than being positioned exclusively along walls. A wall-mounted safety option is useful, but I would have preferred a shelf that felt inherently sturdy enough to be safely freestanding as well. Overall, it's functional, and light colored. I was hoping to find a product line that wasn't overly price but suitable to be used freestanding.

Very nice quality and color. Easy to assemble; 6 year old children in the classroom assembled it with the support of a teacher.

This small bookcase fit the bill for size and sturdiness. It was easy to put together and appears to be well made for the cost. I like the real wood it is made of and will add just the perfect amount of storage without taking up much room.
