They screw together. I have the less deep version as well, screwed on top of this one. Works well in my kitchen (too many things, not enough space, fits on the worksurface under the cupboards).

The descriptions shows several differing measurements! shelf insert, white 32x28x16 width : 28 cm height : 3 cm length : 32 cm .....

I returned this shelf as it was cheap and tatty.

Do these fit into the Ikea Kallax?

I'd guess they do but please check measurements of Callax unit for yoursel as I don't have a Kallax.
