NaturVet Quiet Moments Calming Aid Dog Supplement, Helps Promote Relaxation, Reduce Stress, Storm Anxiety, Motion Sickness for Dogs (Quiet Moments Melatonin, 60 Soft Chews)

We have two miniature Dachshunds that we have to leave home alone in a crate for about 8 hours a day since my wife and I both work. They were making a mess in the crate almost every day which is mostly our fault for never properly crate training them in that crate. After trying several different things, we decided to film them with a web cam to see exactly what was going on while we were gone. Almost the whole time we were gone they were anxiously pacing the cage. This is a classic case of separation anxiety. So instead of looking into pharmaceuticals which I know you can get for anxiety in dogs, we decided to seek a natural remedy first. Quiet Moments have worked very well. The dogs will still make a mess once in a while, but there is usually 2 or 3 days in between. This product really does have a calming effect on dogs, and I recommend them to anyone who has an anxious canine friend. PS. Our dogs wouldn't just chew up the tablets (since they are only about 8 lbs. a piece they get half a tablet every day) so we had to try something else. I have a small blender called the Magic Bullet that I use to grind up the tablet into a powder, then I mixed the powder with some of that stuff that comes in an easy cheese can you can use as a treat with those Kong chew toys. After doing this for a while I just started mixing the powdered tablet with a half a teaspoon of water to make it into a paste. They both eat it that way just fine. Man dogs can be picky!

Most people use this to keep their dogs calm. I do too, but for a different reason. My dog started having bad seizures . After researching it , using a calming agent along with seizure medication helps. She has been seizure free for 3 months and today is her 12th Birthday. I never would have thought she would make it 3 months ago. Her first seizure started last March. Then she started having one about once a week, usually in the evening. She is weak , but is not in pain, wags her tail and is hanging in there until her brain tumor interferes with life threatening symptoms. So yes , I love this product. It keeps her brain calm too !

I have a dog that is very thunderstorm phobic. These tablets do seem to help make him calmer, but do not relieve him of the need to lay down in a closet during a thunderstorm. I think they help, though, as he is not constantly going from closet to bathroom to other parts of the house trying to find the most secluded spot to lay and thus keeping us awake ALL night! And, the tablets must be fairly palatable as he does not refuse them. Best results are when you give the tablets about 30 minutes prior to needing them, something we NEVER remember to do.

i have a catahoula leopard dog who has gets high anxiety from time to time. i bought the pill version because i had good luck with the gel form when we go on long car rides. I learned i have to give him 1 or 2 tablets more then the recommended dose to help him relax but it does help him not to worry as much for at lest a couple of hours. i noticed he not barking at everything that was moving and was able to enjoy himself and play a little more with our other dog instead of thinking he needed protect everything. it's not something to use all the time but it does help when the situation calls for it.

This is a Godsend. 9 year old GSD who was trained to be ok with noise (dropping cookie sheets in same room as a puppy...) hates thunder and fireworks. A big thunderstorm would equal panting, circling, heading to the furnace room, and the always fun - digging up mats and or certain spots of carpet in order to 'get away.' Benadryl had no effect. Got NaturVet Quiet Moments Calming because we liked the Tryptophan / Melatonin combo. The Passion Flower and Chamomile were nice add ins. Gave her one to see if she tolerated it. She did. First storm with the bottle in the house we gave her 2 pills. (And did a good job of getting them to her about 30 min before - yes, they work MUCH better to prevent than to try and overcome. Don't forget that.) As the storm hit she got up and put her head on our bed. But no running, no panting, no digging. Next storm. A 'Severe Thunderstorm Warning' was in effect. Gave her 2 on an empty stomach. (And if you have tried the lower dose 'can they tolerate it' action - and you know they can on an empty stomach...do that. L-Tryptophan is much better not competing with other amino acids.) Gave her another with a small meal 20 min later. Then one last pill as the storm hit. And? She sat on the couch like nothing was going on. The 'Booms' didn't drive her anxiety. She's asleep behind us as I type. Our GSD is exercised to exhaustion almost twice per day. She never lacks for activity. And yet the noise of thunder and fireworks would still snap her out of post exercise relaxed state. Didn't want prescription benzos. And now with NaturVet Quiet Moments...it doesn't look like we will need them at all. Awesome.

I hate to be graphic, but this gave my dog horrible diarrhea the next day. This was in addition to her scary level of misery. Whenever I turn the stove or burners on, she flips out and will run around all night long. I am not sure if she thinks there is a fire or just smells something that my human nose cannot. I can’t just not cook in my own home, and my stove is super clean all the time. I have had her around fires while camping, and she won’t calm down unless I follow her to a safe distance or it’s dowsed in water. I thought this may help with her open flame anxiety. It also did not work for it’s intended purpose. Due to being so small at 4.5 pounds, I gave her less than 1/8 of a pill on two separate days. Plenty of time between to determine it being the cause. It was the only change made in her diet. The first night was an evening that I had pizza. Even one tiny sprinkle of parmesan cheese will make her extremely ill because she is allergic to it, but has zero other food allergies. I thought that she had found a crumb on the floor and kind of forgot about the quiet moments. I gave it to her again on a day without other potential causes, and the same thing happened. This time with blood. Foolish me for not consulting the vet before hand. So this 13 dollar supplement cost me hundreds between taking time off work to care for her, vet bills, and medication. Poor little thing is so sick, which is worse than any amount of money spent to make sure she feels better. If this is a route you are considering, please don’t make the same mistake I did. Consult a vet first.

At 5 years old my dog developed some kind of insomnia. First it was early waking at 4am, then it got earlier, then it got earlier and more frequent, up to the point of whimpering all night over several nights. First, I thought not enough exercise, so we leashed up and went for a more extensive walk as a "test night". That night was the worst - she wouldn't settle down at all. I took her to the vet and she got a clean bill of health after total set of blood tests and general checking over. One day after another night of little sleep for me, I got desperate and picked these up at a major chain pet store. Mostly, they work. Some nights the dog settles back down without them. Some nights she gets two of these and I thank God for them when she settles down, and some nights little effect. But they do work much better than any similar product we've tried - I believe b/c she pulmerizes it by chewing it up rather then swallowing some of the others whole. I would say they are almost as effective as the alprazolam (mild sedative) prescription she has for thunderstorm anxiety, but I didn't want to be drugging her all the time just to sleep. The price here is 1/2 what I paid at the chain pet store. The tablets are quite large, maybe 3/4 inch across, but my 70ish lb dog chews them up fairly well. They aren't too hard, so it would be possible to crush them before giving them to a smaller dog.

These help our fur babies calm down & relax. They are all high energy breeds. Doesn’t make them too drugged or loopy.

My 17 year old dog started 3 am barking i looked into this problem online to discover that very old dogs like mine also get doggie dementia same as us when we get old. This was a problem as i currently live in a terraced cottage with neighbors that go out to work all day and need sleep. My dog is a small dog he only needs half a tablet at night and the problem was instantly solved I do have to squash the tablet into a treat food to get him to take it and they are the size of a penny. These came from the USA so they may take a little time to get here but worth getting we all get a full nights sleep now. These are also to calm dogs on bonfire night and other situations where dogs are nervous or stressed

Buen producto pero si tu perro es un poco tiquis miquis con los sabores, no lo comerá. Nosotros tenemos que aplastarlo con comida cremosa para que lo coma

They seem to do the trick our border collie is terrified around loud bangs, fireworks are a nightmare for her, but we now use these regularly around those times and she tends to go off to her safe place and sleeps. She still doesn't like the noise but is visibly less agitated. And she never minds taking them.

I purchased these for my parents 13 year old a Rhodesian Ridgeback. The last year she had been through a lot, we lost our dog she'd grown up with & unfortunately she has been in the car when a car drover into us. She'd become very nervous about leaving the house to get in the car. She wasnt her usual cheeky self. She's been on these tablets about two weeks now & already she coming along much better than she was.She more playful & seems to be enjoying life again. We're slowly working with her now to help her get over her fear of the car with these tablets that now feels like we can do it.
