I bought this chair mat for my home office and it has worked really well so far. In my photos I show how it comes rolled up and a little bit of the texture. Once laid out, it flattened nicely after some time and feels much sturdier than I expected. My chair moves much more smoothly now and it helps protect the carpet from marks and wear. I also like that it’s clear, so it doesn’t look bulky or take away from the room. The texture gives enough grip to keep it in place without making it hard to roll the chair around. Overall, it feels durable and does exactly what I needed it to do. Great option for carpeted floors and home office setups.

This office chair mat is a very durable protector that effectively prevents chair wheels from damaging floors. It's very thick and heavy. Additionally, it lays flat almost immediately without annoying curling at the edges, making it a reliable and low maintenance solution for any workspace. It worth mentioning that it's for carpets only, not for hardwood floor.

Overall this is working well for me so far -- a week or so. I had a devil of a time unrolling it. It did NOT want to unroll. And the underside is pokey. After getting it unrolled it still wanted to roll up so I placed heavy objects on both ends (I purchased the rectangle version). Once it became mostly flat, I started using it. It is placed on fairly low pile (~1/4") cut loop carpet on a typical pad over concrete. My office chair has 5 legs with dual wheels on each leg. It works well, but if I stay too long in one spot, it will make slight dimples. Being aware of this, I move the legs (rotate them just a little) every now and then. It hasn't cracked yet (I'm 200 lbs) and I hope it lasts a long time. It is SO much nicer than rolling on carpet. My previous mat was thicker, but after 15 years I think it became brittle and began to crack.

I use this mat on a carpeted area under a birdcage. It works perfectly and keep all the bird mess in one place. Very easy to vacuum or spot clean. I used it shiny side down so it blends in well with the surroundings. Seems durable, but I will update this review after one year.

Took quite some effort and time to get it to actually lay flat due to it arrives rolled up. Once somewhat flat, it was an effort to position it as it grabs the carpet strong. IF your chair tends to land in the same spot, it will form divots in the mat making it hard to move without raising up out of your chair to move into another spot.

I am extremely happy with this office chair mat! The clear design blends perfectly with my room and lets my carpet show through, which keeps everything looking clean and neat. It is thick, sturdy, and stays firmly in place on my low-pile carpet without sliding around. My chair now rolls smoothly and quietly, making it so much easier to move around my desk. It also protects my carpet from dents and wear. The quality is excellent and it feels very durable. I highly recommend this chair mat for anyone with carpeted floors!

Great as a workout mat, terrible as an Office Chair Mat for Carpets. Too soft for an office chair; when you stop moving, the chair sinks into the soft rubberized plastic. As a workout mat? 10 out of 10. Its firm but soft surface is great for working out; as you stand or sit on it, it molds slightly to your form and supports without cushioning.

This isn't going to be a comment on the performance of this mat as it's been less than a day since I received it, and, according to the enclosed flyer, it may take three days before I can use it. No, this is a comment on the horrible packaging of the mat and the 90 minutes it took for me to open the boxes and unspool the large 48"x60" mat. It's customer abuse. It makes the most complex IKEA assembly look like putting together a child's wooden puzzle. First off, I received a tall, brown, corregated box (7"x12"x58"). It bore no Amazon markings or Amazon tape so I assume the box was from the manufacturer. (I, of course, don't know that for a certainty.) I opened it. Inside was another tall, brown corregated box (5.5"x5.5"x48"). I opened it. Inside was the wound mat, curled up like a small rug or bolt of cloth. I took it out and Immediately tried to unwind it. It didn't open easily so I searched for tape or some other binding holding the mat so firmly wound. Nope. It was just super tightly spooled and not going to be unspooled easily. To be clear, I'm not talking about a soft, pliable sheet. No, as described on the site, this is a hard, 2.2 mm thick, "premium PVC" mat with 3 mm spikes. Irony alert: "The rolled up package is easy to carry," says the Amazon site. "But it is easy to flatten, just add as much weight as possible to the corners and it will flatten." The enclosed flyer adds: "Your mat will gradually regain and retain it's [sic] flat state. The could take up to 72 hours..." I won't describe in detail the improvised process I used to unroll the mat, only to say that it took about 6 inches at a time to unspool it, leveraging two small boxes to wedge against the roll to keep it from reversing and rolling back up while I employed octopus-like contortions to simultaneously position heavy objects on the mat and unroll it while kneeling or standing on the unspooled portion. All while those 3 mm spikes were ripping into me and whatever heavy objects I tried to use. The five-pound sacks of gardener's pebbles were no match to the stiff premium PVC. I wound up securing the four corners with two large tool boxes, a box of photographic equipment supplemented with a bag of coins, and the two-volumn condensed Oxford English Disctionary. So that's how things lie right now. The flyer suggests that the flattening process might be speeded up a bit by placing the weighted-down mat "in a warm room or near a sunny window." Well, it's 13-degrees here as I write this review; the heat's at full blast, and I'm still wearing a thick sweater here at the keyboard. Warm and sunny are relative, I guess, but I don't think I'm going to make a lot of progress on that front. I might, however, give my wife's hair dryer a try. Addendum: It's been two weeks now since I unspooled the mat and 10 days since I placed it. It's lying mostly flat, but about one-third of the total area--not permanently secured by the wieght of the desk and my occupied chair--remains noticeably bowed. The bow on leading (unsecured) edge is one-and-a quarter-inch off the carpet.

This is a beautiful chair mat. Its perfect to cover our new LVP flooring where I sit on a computer chair a lot during the day. It's clear, has a softness to it, and the chair moves very nicely across the rougher surface.
