Essentially Yours Deeper Bath Overflow Drain Cover - Increase Bathtub Water Levels

I take a few baths per month when I want to pamper myself with bath bombs and prior to purchasing this, it was always annoying when the water would drain out of the overflow protective cover. I would have to immediately add more hot water, which would of course drain out again in a matter of minutes. It was a huge waste of water and soap, and the entire relaxing experience the bath was supposed to be. I finally got fed up and decided to find a solution... and that is when I found this product. It has been my bath saver! I can now take baths and be submerged in the relaxing bath bombs and bath salts. While do I like that this product is translucent, the water and bath products creates a soap scum film on it. I've tried washing it with soap but I was not able to make it look sparkly and new again. Not a huge deal because nobody except me uses my bathroom.

The overflow drain in my bathtub is very low so taking a bath was more like laying in a hot puddle for a bit. ENTER: THIS THING. Now I can get an extra 6 inches of water in my tub and it makes for a completely different experience. It pops on effortlessly and stays put until you tell it otherwise. It does have a hole on top so you can operate the drain control (if applicable) and to provide some overflow protection. Mine does leak a bit and I can’t figure out why it won’t seal completely but it doesn’t let enough water by to ruin the fun. Overall I’m satisfied and would recommend this to people looking for a better bath time experience.

I love taking baths, but it’s hard to get an enjoyably deep bath in a modern tub. This is absolutely a necessary work-around! I’ve been using them for years — they don’t break, exactly, they just get more and more water-stained as time goes by, to the point that I declare it too gross to use and decide to get a new one. The suction can be a little fussy. You’ll figure out what works for you, but my best tips are to wet the suction cups first, install it after you’ve filled the tub (or the rushing water can push it off the wall), be sure to put the opening hole at the top (or water will just get in), and push all the way around the circle to try and engage all the suction cups.

I purchased one of these and love it. It's a soft rubber drain cover that sticks well to the tub and allows a deeper tub since it blocks the over flow drain. It does have a hole cut out at the top in case your water level gets too high to avoid water from over flowing the tub. You do need to remove it and dry it after use. Unfortunately another member of my household used it and left it stuck to the tub and water had sat inside the drain cover then it ended up growing black mold that I couldn't scrub off (because it's rubber material). So from experience, remove and let dry after every use. I just received a new clean one and I plan on hiding it from my family.

At first I was ready to write a review saying this does not work. I tried the cover again another day and it worked. It was then that I noticed there's a quarter sized hole in the side, which you have to make sure it's on the top when you put it on your tub. The first time I used it, I didn't notice the hole and had it at the bottom somewhere. The cover filled with water and my water drained. Now that I know, I'm happy with it.

So I have a bath tub where you have to flip a little switch on the overflow drain to plug the drain in the bottom of the tub (I hated it before and I hate it even more now) While this does fit over it, it doesn't seal all the way around it though I found that if I move the hole in the cover off to the side and make sure it seals on the bottom (not easy to do by the way) that it works pretty well. All in all I'd probably purchase this again, just wish it came out a little more to accommodate my type of tub situation.

This really works! I'm disappointed I never discovered this sooner as I have been endlessly frustrated by the immediate water drain in standard tubs. I took stars off because packaging was really awful, like it had been returned before... Maybe? Chose to sterilize thoroughly before use.

This is product does not seal around a drain overflow. Do not buy it for this purpose.
