I bought this on a complete lark and I'm very impressed. I've hand painted with it as well as using a silkscreen. In both cases it's worked wonderfully. It's a bit magical watching the burn develop under my heat gun. The paste is very smooth and the consistency of soft butter. Very easy to work with, but be sure to wear gloves as it can be easy to make a mess. When applying it using a silkscreen the detail is fantastic and it's made leaving my touch mark on my products faster so it's a great value.

This stuff is amazing!! I got some generic wooden ornament blanks from Amazon & cut out stencils on my Cricut with removable vinyl. I was able to use designs with some pretty fine details & this gel had them showing up perfectly. Some tips: *Make sure your wood surface is smooth. Love that this kit even comes with sandpaper *Have a dropcloth or slop sheet over your work area; smudges happen *The kit comes with gloves, but I didn't feel the need. While I did get some of the gel on my hands, it didn't irritate my skin & it washes off easily *I was very aggressive with the plastic squeegee when applying my stencils. Bend that blade! *Mostly I applied the gel with a small paintbrush in a swirl pattern. Apply with strokes in all directions to make sure the gel gets in all those nooks/crannies of your stencils *I let the gel dry a minimum of 5 mins, most were more like 10 just due to my workflow *Heat gun on the high setting got me nice dark scorched designs & sometimes a little extra color on the wood for bonus effect. *I played with the pen a little & looking forward to using that on other projects. And LOVE that this kit includes extra tips in different sizes for it. A little gel goes a long way. I made 2-sided ornaments like shown in the picture. 25 ornaments & the container still looks as full as when I opened it.

Works very well just takes a couple of tries to get used to amount of product and time to leave on and heat. Expect bleeding for a couple of tries.

The product works for the most part. I am a first time user so some of it may be me. The instructions do not mention what may happen if there is too much product applied. It bubbles up and looks odd then it will flake off. If applied thinly, then it works fine. The pen that came in the kit puts out too much product and when using the heat gun, it blows the product around andake a mess. If you blot it, do it with the stencils in place. The product will smush out of place. Otherwise, it works fine.

Pen works really good, but the paste seems to be a little thick and leaves a gummy residue. It bleeds onto material, so lines aren't crisp

Used for the first time for a sign for my porch and it’s so easy to use!

This gel is exactly what we wanted. Using a paintbrush seemed to give the best results keeping the lines crisp. Printed stencils on my Cricut.
