GBH18V-22N 18V Brushless SDS-plus® Bulldog™ 3/4 In. Rotary Hammer (Bare Tool)

I have used the BOSCH Bulldog Xtreme 8 Amp corded variable speed SDS-Plus concrete/masonry rotary hammer for well over a decade, so I know exactly what I expect from a Bosch Bulldog. After finally upgrading to the cordless Bosch GBH18V-22N, I honestly do not think I will need to go back to my corded hammer again for most of my real-world jobs. This tool has been excellent in actual installation work. Most of my drilling has been 3/8", 1/2" and 3/4" holes, usually around 3" to 8" deep in concrete, for mounting large industrial signage, installing 80" to 100" commercial TVs, and anchoring floor bolts for a backyard deck project. I have also used it to drill through exterior stucco for mounting an antenna and EV batteries. For this kind of work, it has been powerful, reliable, and much more convenient than dragging around a corded tool. What really impressed me is how practical this rotary hammer feels on the job. It is compact for its class, easy to control, and much easier to move around with than a corded hammer, especially when working on ladders, around exterior walls, or moving from one mounting point to another. The freedom of cordless makes a huge difference in real work. No extension cords, less setup, less hassle, and fewer trip hazards. In concrete, the drilling performance has been very good for the size of the tool. It has handled my 3/8" and 1/2" holes without trouble and does not feel underpowered for the kind of anchoring and mounting work most installers or contractors do on a regular basis. The SDS-plus system also makes bit changes quick and secure, which saves time when switching between sizes on the same job. Battery choice also matters. For longer jobs, I highly recommend pairing this tool with the Bosch GBA18V80 18V CORE18V 8 Ah High Power battery. Yes, it adds weight, and you will notice that more during overhead or high-ceiling drilling, but I still prefer this cordless setup over a corded rotary hammer. The freedom from extension cords means fewer trip hazards, less setup hassle, and easier movement around ladders, exterior walls, and busy job sites. For me, the added battery weight is a worthwhile tradeoff for the safety and convenience of cordless use. A very important note is that bit quality makes a huge difference. I highly recommend pairing this tool with good quality bits. In my experience, make sure to purchase SDS-plus Bulldog Xtreme rotary hammer drill bits because they work very well with this tool. Good bits help it drill cleaner, faster, and with less effort, and they really let the hammer perform the way it should. One more helpful tip: concrete dust is no joke. I strongly recommend attaching a vacuum or dust collection setup whenever possible to reduce dust and keep the work area cleaner. At the very least, wear proper respiratory protection such as an N95 or P100 respirator when drilling concrete, especially indoors or during longer jobs. Staying safe matters just as much as tool performance. After more than a decade using the corded version, I can say this cordless GBH18V-22N gives me the performance I need with far better mobility and convenience. For the kind of concrete drilling, anchoring, and exterior installation work I do, this has become my go-to rotary hammer.

Bosch makes some of the best rotary hammers and this is a great one in a small package. Use it for smaller concrete screws but I think it would well up to like 3/8” fasteners. Haven’t used chipping on it yet. I have it paired with the core battery and it is lightweight and lasts a decent amount of time.

Bought this for a heavy-duty job drilling through granite rock, and the drill was amazing. It went through the granite as effortlessly as if I were drilling into wood. Super impressed. 10/10!

Compact and powerful for a great price. I bought this at a discount so it was a good deal and investment. Bosch tools have always met my expectations but I was a bit skeptical if this would do the job. It performed exceptionally well and is fairly light with a smaller battery but still remains nimble with the larger batteries. A time saver when portability is needed and plug in power sources are limited.

This is the greatest little jackhammer , where have you been all my life! just used it to demo a Chimney and with a 8Ah battery the unit worked for hours before i had to recharge. the Noise is not bad at all and simple earplugs turn it into a wisper. Simple design and very easy to use. the Anti-Shock is great absorbing the hammering as i used it for hours on end over a day. Super light weight and very Durable. All in got this on sale and its worth every penny.

This tool is awesome. It is powerful, confortable, no heavy and durable. I have been using it for more than a year almost daily and even though some times I drill in concrete with a 1" bit nothing happen to it. One thing I recommend is to use a 8 ah bosch battery, it last much longer than other batteries and the drill work much better. I do not recommend generic batteries because they can not handle the drill very well.

Works well

Small and compact but man is its powerful for the size been using it non stop for a new home build, and it is running strong. Works good with 4 amp battery, but with an 8 thats were its true potential ia at.

Used it today for the first time, and it’s excellent. 4.0h battery lasts a long time (hasn’t run out yet on a smallish full day job) and it’s less fierce than a corded cheap one I used. You can really control it a lot easier and it’s lightweight etc. great for being up a ladder rather than a heavy corded one. Worth the money for me. Just comes in the box with the handle and the drill, nothing else. But that’s perfect for me because I have the battery and charger already. Top quality!!

Its slcompact, light. Love the balance. Drill, chisel, hammer drill all in one. Much better than buying a hammer/drill combo. Have not used it much. Bought it as a gift to me after finishing a job to drill holes in her foundation. I needed to make plug holes to install the new winter spigot. Now with this drill we wont need to rent a hamner drill.
