Laptop Vivobook 15 X1504ZA 15.6" Full HD Laptop (Intel i7-1255U, 16GB RAM, 512GB PCIe SSD, Windows 11 Home)

So purchased this after retiring and no longer had a work laptop. I wanted a cheap ish I7 for home use (spreadsheets, creating designs, surfing etc.) I have had if a few weeks now and used it every day. Good points: - Screen size - Bootup speed - Responsive - feels as good as any work laptop - good size keyboard - keypad - light enough for travel Bad points - battery is ok but does not last as long as I am used too Enjoying using it so far. but it feels sturdy and good quality

Had a previous model ASUS for years. It worked so well but now slow. So stayed with a name I know. This new one is so fast and easy to use. Perfect for what I need.

Really quite pleased with this. Suits my needs. Completing the review with it now. Casual browsing and emailing. Watch the odd bit of telly/film etc and its decent enough. Battery life is OK 5 to 6 hours with casual use. No idea about how good this thing would be for gaming as I don't. Seems fast enough on boot but no idea if it would cope well (may well do, i7 chip and 16Gb ram) but don't base your buying decision on that. One thing I wish I'd paid more attention to? Backlit keyboard. This doesn't have. Not a show stopper as I have a USB plug in light thing I bought from a certain nordic superstore which does the trick. But, next time... Happy with my purchase, even got my head around the windows 11 o/s it came with.

This is a brilliant laptop. It's not my first Asus laptop, this is their usual high quality product. The build quality is excellent, it is very quick, the screen definition is fabulous. It's easy to setup with Windows 11. The sound quality is also very impressive. For the price, this is an excellent machine that will do everything I need it to easily.

I've been really disappointed with this laptop. I'd say the battery lasts about 2 hours, which is so impractical. I am considering what to do when i travel because it's barely worth taking it with me. I've tried to contact Asus for support but nothing. I would not buy another ASUS after this experience.

Was all good for 14 months and now it won't turn on or anything battery seems to still charge so maybe some problem with the screen but not great only last just over a year.

As one would expect from Asus this is a capable, well designed machine. An aluminium cased option would be even better and worth paying more for, my previous Asus is aluminium cased and has stood the test of time, the only reason I have upgraded at all is that recent software updates have rendered it obsolete for the purposes I require it for. Upgrading the RAM is simple, it will support 40gb easily enough after a straightforward BIOS update, I swapped the 8gb stick for a 32gb by Crucial (make sure to get the correct spec, it's important) and it improved its performance dramatically. It will also be receiving a storage capacity upgrade once I work out the best option, the 500gb provided is adequate for most users I would imagine but I would be happier with a minimum of 1tb onboard storage, like most modern laptops there aren't many ports available so external drives aren't ideal (I use it for live music performance and DJing which requires wired connections to controllers and professional sound card modules).
