Outset Grill Skewers, Set of 4 Stainless Steel Slider Skewers

Wow what a difference these kabob skewers make! Finally, I'm able to turn my kabobs and have my meat and veggies turn WITH it, so everything can cook evenly! And the "slider" part is great for helping to push everything off the skewer when it's time to eat. They wash great in the dishwasher and appear to be of very good quality so should last a long time. I was so impressed by them that I purchased a couple of sets as a gift for my nephew, who is a Green Egg fanatic and an excellent BBQer. He was really impressed with them, as well, and very appreciative of their quality. You cannot go wrong with these babies -- they're worth it!

The Outset Stainless Steel Slider Skewers are an excellent product for a few reasons. First, it is a great idea to have two skewers instead of one to hold the meat, veggies, etc. Whenever I’ve tried to make kabobs in the past, the food would always fall off and spin around the skewer. Having two prongs keeps the food in place, which makes grilling or baking so much easier. Secondly, the food easily slides off the skewers when done, which is a huge plus. However, and this is a big however, the sliders get HOT. Wondering if some other type of material like silicone could be used because it is very cumbersome to use a potholder and you just can’t touch it off the grill. I know you could let it sit and rest, but it stays hot for a while. This is the reason I did not give the Outset Skewers five stars. Finally, you can’t beat the price. I’ve seen similar products which might work just as well but at under $11, the Outset Skewers are a great choice. Bottom line, I would highly recommend the Outset Skewers, even with the hot sliders.

I have been using steel cable skewers for years, and I do like them a lot, though they have some limitations. I wanted to try these skewers to avoid some of the frustrations I have with the cable skewers, and so far I am pleased with them. They seem to work well and they eliminate one specific issue that I have seen with single prong skewers. These are double prong skewers that work as expected. They hold the food in place while it's grilled and they make flipping the food over easy. There's no mystery about that. What is nice about these as opposed to single prong skewers is that with two prongs through the food the things being cooked are a lot easier to flip over because they don't flip with gravity when turning the skewers. That makes grilling evenly a lot easier. The sliders are what make these skewers stand out. They slide easily (well, mostly easily depending on what you're cooking) and help to get food off the skewers a lot easier. Of course, be careful when these are still hot. These are nice skewers and will see a lot of use through the spring and summer months in our house. They hold foods well and the sliders make getting food off of the skewers and onto plates a lot simpler.

I wish I had had these skewers for all the years I’ve been grilling! The slider on each is very helpful in getting meat, vegetables or fruit off the skewer. The ends of the skewer are sharp enough to spike anything. The skewers are a decent length for grilling kebabs. They aren’t bulky, so they are easy to store. I look forward to using these all summer.

These come with little rubber ends to cover the sharp points, but I’m sure I will lose those LOL. You can see from my close up picture, the ends are super sharp to cut through everything very easily. We have been looking for a better way, and these are the solution. The double prongs keep your food from falling off and make them easy to flip on the grill, the sliders slide easily. Another reviewer mentioned to apply a little oil to the prongs before your food so they glide even easier. That is a great idea! I think the metal prongs in the middle of your food help it to cook more evenly and faster too.

Just got our first bag of charcoal for the season. (Although I'm sure one won't be enough) Now I just have to find my recipe for shishkabob. Sorry about butchering the spelling. I have a recipe for marinating beef, and just about anything else to be skewered that's had rave reviews over the years. I had been using baskets in the past but they didn't seem to work as well and on a few occasions the meat and other goodies fell out of the basket so I'm looking forward to trying these. Chances of losing meat or veggies or shrimp seems less likely with two prongs and one of these can be an individual serving. Of course I may need another set or two.

I got these BBQ skewers for my husband. He recently got a smoker and has been going crazy grilling. He mentioned he wanted to try out making shish kebob, when I saw these skewers I thought they would be perfect. They are pretty close to perfect. The two prong flat design keeps the skewers from rolling on the grill. Because they don't roll the meat gets cooked evenly on each side. The sliders are great as you are able to slide your meat and veggies off without needing a fork or other tool. The only downside is the handle. As it's metal it obviously gets very hot. I know that wood wouldn't be great as they would burn but maybe a silicone lining or something similar would have worked for the handle. We use a silicone pot holder when handling them on the grill. You definitely need some sort of pot holder or protection when handling them straight from the grill.
